So my mom was helping me with my son and now she’s leaving tomorrow morning. Do I take my son to daycare right away or just ease into it? Should I take him tomorrow or the day after!

He’s 11 months old btw

I’m not sure I understand the question, do you need the childcare for work?

Have you got your place at daycare? When are you booked in to start…? When are your settle sessions? You can’t just start them whenever you like they usually have a few days where the hours increase (or this is how it works in the uk anyway. There’s long waits for childcare places here too!)

Advice on potty training

Please tell me what worked for you to get your boys to go on the toilet. My oldest will be 3 in January and he is absolutely refusing the toilet. Ive tried having him run bare bottom and he just freaked out the whole time because he didnt have a diaper. I tried letting him pick out his own potty. I now have a hot wheel tiny toilet and a spiderman toilet seat 🙄 I've tried candy/toys and he lost interest in the object completely. I tried bribery. I told him i would buy the biggest monster truck, take him out to dinner and take him to go ride a horse and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "thats not fair." Any time anyone brings up the toilet he screams no. And i want him potty trained so badly. I feel like im "failing" in a sense because my friends who have kids who are around his age use the bathroom. And i know theres no reason to compare children but its a little hard. So any other advice?? I feel like I've tried all the well known tricks

Break-up at 21 weeks - heartbroken with no support

Hey, my bf has decided that HE is overwhelmed and after an escalated argument (over something minor) it would be a good idea to pack a few things and dissappear. Days later after being ignored, I finally get a response that he is breaking up with me and moving, but expecting me to keep his stuff and wait until he finds a place.

I am devastated beyond words because for the first time things between us were getting better and arguments less serious - I felt so blindsided. The day before we are talking about marriage and buying books (me) about how to handle conflict better to this.

I love him a lot but it seems I will be raising my boy alone. Any single moms or single pregnant mommies out there? I could really use some advise on this. I feel so overwhelmed and heartbroken .

My father is a narcissist

My husband and I live in the UK while my parents live in South Africa.

We've been here five years and they've never been over to visit. This year I had my son (their first grandchild) and they have flown over to visit.

My family and I sincerely believe that my father is a narcissist.

They have been here for about a week, with one week left to go. My father has planned the whole visit with a full itinerary of sightseeing in London and a few scattered days in between to spend with my son and I (he did all the planning on an excel spreadsheet and basically told everyone how it was going to go). He was really angry at me for not doing everything with them but I explained that it would be almost impossible to do everything with a 4 month old baby.

My husband is away for a few days, so I am alone with baby during the day (parents staying over at night). My baby started teething and I had an incredibly challenging morning so I called my parents to ask if they would be willing to come back home to help me with him. I normally just power through but my baby was super unsettled and I hadn't even had a shower or meal yet (approx. 11am)

I was met with my father aggressively telling me off for being selfish, unreasonable etc because they have paid a lot for their sightseeing tour/s for the day. He asked me whether I really feel that I need the help or whether I'm actually fine on my own.
He told me that he has paid a lot for their trip overall and basically that I was not appreciative of it.

He accused me of being manipulative and "playing the victim".

I politely but firmly told him that I genuinely need some help and that I'm feeling quite overwhelmed (it's my first time being alone with baby EVER while my husband's away)

He started shouting and I made it clear that I was not going to take any abuse. I called my mum and told her that I don't want him back here and that he's probably better off staying at a hotel for the rest of the stay. I don't want the negativity around my baby.

Low and behold mum and dad show up at my place a little while later and mum says that he has something to say- he simply said "sorry for getting angry with you" but it was followed by a "but" and then he dug into me again. He began to raise his voice at me and at that point I told him that if he was not going to speak to me with respect, he knows where the door is.

He grabbed his bags, rushed to the door and shouted at me that I am rude etc. I just broke down sobbing.. it took me back to my childhood when him and my mum would fight all the time, the awful things he used to say to / call me and just how much I dispise his demeanor.

My younger sister is now guilting me and telling me he has nowhere else to stay (he does, at a hotel but it's obviously costly and he's blown most of his budget on sightseeing, so I know he can't really afford it) but I do not want him under my roof again or his aggression around my baby.

Am I being unreasonable? I want to protect my son and I do not want him to have any part of the childhood that I had filled with violence, aggression and constant fighting.

I honestly never want him back here ever again and I'm pretty relieved that I have moved to another country now as it's allowed me to distance myself from all of the negative energy.
