I’m preparing already for Christmas lol. This year my son understand more he’s 2 years old. What are some traditions/ ideas I can start with him or for him. I want to collect something for him every year I was thinking to do an ornament of something he loves for the year. I also maybe want to start something for thanksgiving but idk if he’ll understand the parade or stuff. I need ALL ideas. Preparation is important this year especially because we didn’t go all out for Halloween we’re making up for it !

It’s so fun establishing traditions with your kids! It’s a bit of work but I’ve done this homemade advent calendar where there’s an envelope for each day leading up to Christmas. Each one has a special activity, event, pack of stickers, or even a little treat! I look at the calendar and see what’s up and what we want to do and plan accordingly so for example, we’ve made it a tradition to go to our town’s annual tree lighting ceremony so for that day the envelope has that on there.
Others things I put in:
- Christmas movie night
- morning Hot chocolate
- Drive around and look at lights
- colouring page
- Cookie baking/decorating

I try and put the easier stuff during the weekdays and maybe the more involved activities for the weekends when my husband is home :)

We like to do a Christmas photoshoot & matching Christmas pajamas for Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. The photos are my favorite though as we’ve gotten to see our family grow over the years.
This year we plan on making some salt dough ornaments.

We are doing the ornament thing that’s pretty fun. We also try to go see Christmas lights every year. Where we are had a tinsel train so a whole bunch of Christmas trees that business decorate so that’s always fun. Or at our botanical gardens have lights

-A house to add to the Christmas village countertop decoration that we shop for and pick out together at a christmasy store.
-We decorate gingerbread houses for the Christmas village and decorate Christmas cookies and take a pic with them every year. We gift the cookies to family with the picture.
We also keep a lineup of the pictures that we frame and put on the mantle for decoration. -A xmas train advent calendar.
-We usually do an early December Xmas trip to a snowy Christmas place but since I’m in my 3rd trimester we’re skipping that this year to do all the local Christmas activities instead.

This was my 2 year old and 8 month olds first time trick or treating. We went to church members homes and then the next day we had our church fall hootenanny. He participated in the truck or treat and hay ride there. Lots of fun memories made. Thanksgiving will most likely be just us or maybe a friend giving, but Christmas should be fun

Nursery.

Hi, I'm going to visit a potential nursery tomorrow for my LO. She'll be just under 1yr when she starts.
Does anyone have any suggestions on questions I should make sure to ask or anything I should be looking out for?
TIA

Post partum rage

Does anyone suffer with PPR? I only get it when I'm putting my boy to bed and I have NO idea why. It's completely illogical and irrational but when he's messing around and won't settle I feel the fire rising in me. I get so enraged. Id never hurt him or anything I just have to walk out and take a minute to calm down.

Advice on potty training

Please tell me what worked for you to get your boys to go on the toilet. My oldest will be 3 in January and he is absolutely refusing the toilet. Ive tried having him run bare bottom and he just freaked out the whole time because he didnt have a diaper. I tried letting him pick out his own potty. I now have a hot wheel tiny toilet and a spiderman toilet seat 🙄 I've tried candy/toys and he lost interest in the object completely. I tried bribery. I told him i would buy the biggest monster truck, take him out to dinner and take him to go ride a horse and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "thats not fair." Any time anyone brings up the toilet he screams no. And i want him potty trained so badly. I feel like im "failing" in a sense because my friends who have kids who are around his age use the bathroom. And i know theres no reason to compare children but its a little hard. So any other advice?? I feel like I've tried all the well known tricks

Break-up at 21 weeks - heartbroken with no support

Hey, my bf has decided that HE is overwhelmed and after an escalated argument (over something minor) it would be a good idea to pack a few things and dissappear. Days later after being ignored, I finally get a response that he is breaking up with me and moving, but expecting me to keep his stuff and wait until he finds a place.

I am devastated beyond words because for the first time things between us were getting better and arguments less serious - I felt so blindsided. The day before we are talking about marriage and buying books (me) about how to handle conflict better to this.

I love him a lot but it seems I will be raising my boy alone. Any single moms or single pregnant mommies out there? I could really use some advise on this. I feel so overwhelmed and heartbroken .
