C-section - 3 weeks

Hey mums😊Is anyone else struggling with how their C-section looks? I feel like mine has created this little shelf that makes my lower belly stick out and the area right above my vagina look puffy or fat. Almost like my stomach and pubic area form a “B” shape.
It’s not that noticeable but I can notice it 😩 I don’t know if I’m explaining it properly, but it’s really messing with how I feel about my body.
Does anyone else have this?
Does it go away?
Any suggestions, products or anything that could help?
I understand I’m 3 weeks post surgery and all, so is still healing and my body is recovering.

Oh mama, I wish I could give you a big hug! 🥹❤️ I completely understand how you feel. I’m a mama of five, and I’ve had five C-sections, with my most recent one just a few weeks ago. Trust me, I know how hard it can be to see your body change and not feel like yourself.
One thing I’ve learned is that healing takes time, and sometimes our bodies don’t go back to exactly how they were before. You’re only three weeks postpartum, so please be gentle with yourself. Your body is still healing, and you may notice little changes as time goes on.
I personally use a girdle or high-waisted garments, which help me feel more comfortable and supported. Just make sure anything you wear is comfortable, doesn’t put pressure on your incision, and is approved by your doctor while you’re healing.
Give yourself some grace, mama. ❤️ You can be grateful for your babies and still have moments when you struggle with your body image. I have those moments too!

Just remember, there’s no rush to feel like yourself again or to love every change right away. Take things one day at a time, be kind to yourself, and allow your body the time it needs. You’ve been through so much, and you deserve all the love, patience, and kindness you give to everyone else. Sending you the biggest hug, mama! 🥹💕

I’m about 7 weeks out from mine … I think everyone has that to some extent and I was convinced that I would never be able to wear leggings again when I was 2-3 weeks because it was such a weird looking indent. At my 2 week check which was closer to 3 weeks I was crying and asked will it always look like that and the midwife gave a scary “no one can say how it will look based on weight loss or weight gain” 🙄🙃 but it’s improved SO dramatically just naturally. There’s still a tiny crease but nothing visible outside pants at this point. And I still have +40lbs from my normal walking weight, haven’t done really anything except rest and started getting between 5-7k steps, 3-4 times per week. There’s scar massage you can do too to break up the tissue and loosen the skin where it’s bound to scar tissue.

All to say ❤️ you’re not alone and it does get better ❤️

Second pregnancy, same rude midwives!

Honestly, I can’t believe how we’re sometimes treated during pregnancy.

I went to my first appointment today and asked for a toxoplasmosis test because of a potential exposure (my husband cooked a half cooked venison burger 😑).

The midwife’s response? “I don’t know how it is in your country, but here we don’t routinely test for it. I’ve had a lady from France who wanted a test too because apparently that’s how they do it there.”

To which I replied, “I wouldn’t know, I’ve never been pregnant in France!” 😂 And just to clarify, I’m not even french, I’m belgian!

The whole appointment was honestly awful. I know the exact date of conception, but not the first day of my last period and my cycles are very irregular. Despite explaining all of this, I was told multiple times I was probably 9 weeks, maybe 10, when I know for a fact I’m 11 weeks.

Now I’ve been told I need to go to the Early Pregnancy Unit to confirm my dates (that I already know), because they’ve booked my first scan for after 14 weeks.

Absolute joke 😅

20 week scan

I have had my 20 week scan today. Baby was being a nightmare so they’ve had to re book to get other measurements. They couldn’t get spine (only the bottom) or the heart.

Is this something that happens often?

Gender?

Hi all! i hope you’re doing well.

i went for an early reassurance scan and was only 9 weeks here, so maybe impossible to tell but i was just wondering if there are any experts here that could have a guess at the gender? 🥲🩷
