Im partly here to vent, hear your opinions, and figure myself out. It’s kind of long, sorry in advance.
Backstory…prior to kids my husband always played soccer in a rec league once or twice a week plus go to the gym at least 4 times a week. He also would always watch games during football season. He gets season passes every year with his dad. He’s continued doing these things after having kids.
I started thinking, “what am I doing that I used to do before kids?” And I can’t think of anything. I used to read a lot but now I can’t find the joy in reading anymore.
Another thing that happened that brought me to this point was that I was having a conversation with my husband. I asked him how the game was (he had just gotten back from watching the Rams play). He answered and that was the end of the convo. I said, “you don’t care to ask me how my day was?” And he responded with ,”well you do the same thing every day. So I’m sure nothing different happened.” (Ouch, but it’s so true)
I cook, clean, watch the kids. That’s all I have energy to do. I don’t mind it but I want to find joy in something that’s outside the house.

Not gonna lie, same. My husband asks me how my days go and if the kids where good. He encourages me to get a hobby. I like scrabooking but can't do anything till I order pictures. I don't want to knit or crochet. Low maintenance high reward is what I need.

I think it’s so easy to lose a little bit of yourself in motherhood, especially when your days start revolving around the same responsibilities. But becoming a mom doesn’t mean putting your entire identity on hold. Your husband still has his things, and I think you deserve that same space to have things that are just yours.
Maybe it’s time to experiment with things you haven’t tried before! A pottery or painting class, Pilates, yoga, tennis, a book club, cooking classes, hiking groups, or volunteering. You could also look into wine social events(or wine-free), craft workshops, or local meetups where you can meet women with similar interests. And don’t feel like you need to find your lifelong passion immediately. Try different things until something clicks. Sometimes it’s not even about the hobby itself, but having something on your calendar that’s exciting, fun and gets you going. I’m sorry you feel this way. Sending you love and you’re not alone.
Being a mom is wonderful. It truly is. I love my daughter and I love being a mom. But it is so incredibly draining and I wonder if that is because I’m doing it wrong? Maybe my mindset isn’t right? I see so many moms on social media who basically say they stopped struggling because they stopped viewing motherhood in a negative and stressful way. They focused more on the sweet moments and doing fun activities and simply being present with their child. I try that but I’m so tired.
It doesn’t help that I have been in a depressive episode for a year now and I’ve been trying to get out of it, which takes a lot of fucking energy. Energy that I don’t have. My husband is a big help, but he is also tired from work and I try to make sure that when he gets home, the atmosphere is relaxing and he can get comfortable and rest. I don’t want him to worry about my mood or how he can fix how I’m feeling. Because the issue with that is I don’t feel anything other than drained. I’m not angry, sad, happy, stressed, nothing. I’m just tired.
I’m considering getting on some type of medication for my depression, but I always feel hesitant. The last time I was on meds, I had constant suicidal thoughts and it scared the shit out of me, so I stopped them immediately. I don’t even know what I really need right now. I just want to sleep.

Hey! Is anyone else’s baby not clingy at all?😂 my son is 9 months old and I’ve been waiting for the dreaded separation anxiety to kick in but that’s not happening lol. He will let anyone put him to bed and anyone hold him, never reaches for me or looks for me in a room and it is sort of upsetting me😂 I know some of my friends babies will not let them even leave the room or want to be held by them and only them but that’s not the case with my son. I feel he would be fine going off with a stranger at this point😂
Is my son just super independent or will it come??

My MIL always tells my husband to take it easy because he’s only one person. We have 3 little ones. Would you take her comment the wrong way? I feel it sounds like she thinks he does everything and I don’t do enough? Or is it just figure of speech?

Am I in the wrong?
Me and my partner had our first baby 6 weeks ago. I had a c section and whilst he was on paternity leave he was great. He helped around the house, helped with changing etc.
Since he’s started back at work it’s all gone down hill. I need to ask him majority (not all) but majority if the time to either hold her whilst I get jobs done or change her. He will cook for us and occasionally do some chores but otherwise I feel like I’m nagging him to do stuff around the house.
I EBF so I understand he can’t help with feeding in the night but I’m up changing her and feeding her in the night and I feel like I’m up with her majority of the day too. He’ll go on his game whilst I’m sat downstairs with the baby.
Today I had a migraine so I asked if he could have the baby whilst I nap for an hour but then I felt bad for doing it.
Don’t get me wrong he’s a good dad but he’s got lazy when it comes to helping me out. That’s what I think with this situation anyway I don’t know if I’m overthinking it.

I’m doing a mural in my kids room and he requested trees, mountains, animals. But the hills and green area feel naked. Any suggestions on what to add? Within reason ofc I’m a Pinterest mom not Picasso

Hi all, my 18 month old does not like normal lunch things and I am stuck with ideas. He doesn’t like sandwiches, wraps, omelettes, pin wheels, quiche. He is allergic to dairy, tomatoes and peppers. Does anyone have any lunch ideas? At the moment when he isn’t at nursery his lunch involves 2 packets of sweetcorn crisps and fruit
