My daughter is 17 months old and may I mention that just because she’s a girl it doesn’t make it any easier, girl or boy. Toddlers are hard work!!
I want to check in with all toddler mums because I know for a fact I’m not the only mum that’s sitting in a corner pulling their hair out 😂
Took my daughter to rhyme time today at the library and the first 15 minutes were great, she was going up to everyone and said hi, was just really happy until she wanted to escape and leave the library, it was awful. All the mums were looking at me in horror as I pick her up to take her back into the library and she screamed, scratched my face, threw a toy at my face and was hitting me with full force 🥲my child is genuinely so feral I can’t take her there anymore.
I got home and gave her a nap and then I went downstairs to just cry because it was super overwhelming, the stacks of washing that need doing, the endless tasks of needing to go back out and grab things, on top of a little madam that isn’t having her day today. All of it just got ontop of me, I handle things quite well but today it’s felt impossible.
Reality of having a little girl who is so on it, it can be so exhausting.
How has everyone else’s day gone so far? How are we coping?

I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old and when I tell you the first time I went out with both kids together. My son kept running of leaving me to leave my daughters pram in middle of the path just to get my son! When he runs he runs! My house is a mess coz my daughters doesn’t want to be out down! My son wants to climb all over me and play. It’s a blessing but I wanna just curl in a ball sometimes 🥲😂

My 2yo is quite the same! He used to fling his head back and 98% of the time it was into my face, directly hitting me in the nose. He's busted my lip and gave me a black eye once! The dr asked if everything was okay at home, and I was mortified!!!
Taking young ones out is so so hard, but much to our dismay, they only get better at it with practice. So I would practice with fenced in parks, enclosed playgrounds (like at mcdonalds) and the like. Practice listening and discipline at home so she knows what happens when she doesn't listen, regardless of where you are. Always lay out the ground rules and the consequences before starting an activity or getting out of the car. She may not understand everything you say right now, but the more you talk to her like a big kid, the sooner she'll grasp it and her vocabulary will grow.
I have 3 toddlers and a baby on the way! It's tough but I promise it's doable! You can enjoy going out again! 🥴
Im partly here to vent, hear your opinions, and figure myself out. It’s kind of long, sorry in advance.
Backstory…prior to kids my husband always played soccer in a rec league once or twice a week plus go to the gym at least 4 times a week. He also would always watch games during football season. He gets season passes every year with his dad. He’s continued doing these things after having kids.
I started thinking, “what am I doing that I used to do before kids?” And I can’t think of anything. I used to read a lot but now I can’t find the joy in reading anymore.
Another thing that happened that brought me to this point was that I was having a conversation with my husband. I asked him how the game was (he had just gotten back from watching the Rams play). He answered and that was the end of the convo. I said, “you don’t care to ask me how my day was?” And he responded with ,”well you do the same thing every day. So I’m sure nothing different happened.” (Ouch, but it’s so true)
I cook, clean, watch the kids. That’s all I have energy to do. I don’t mind it but I want to find joy in something that’s outside the house.
What makes you ladies happy? What hobbies do you that’s outside of your sahm bubble?

I had a dental cleaning appointment today. I walked into the dental office with my 5 month old infant in the stroller only to be told they couldn’t accommodate him. Then they said I didn’t have an appointment at that time anymore. It was cancelled without my knowledge. I asked why because I had received a text on my phone regarding the appointment. Apparently, I was supposed to confirm before coming and because I did not, they cancelled my appointment. I made a mental note to never return to the same establishment.
I was upset it was cancelled and yes I was upset they didn’t want my well-behaved child in their office. They were sort of rude about it. That’s how I felt when they said they cancelled my appointment when I said I could reschedule but it was not necessary as it was cancelled. I didn’t get a text saying it was cancelled. I also get a lot of texts, emails, and calls. It takes a lot out of me to respond to everything. I don’t have help with my son. As a mother, it also took a lot out of me to drive there with an infant and show up. It’s not easy to lug a child around everywhere and still have time to self. I realized most establishments are not friendly to people with children. Workplaces especially. It’s hard to function with a kid and everything needs to be planned out in advance.
No wonder our birth rates are declining…
My kid started daycare this week only to be told he was potentially exposed to RSV on his very first day. So I didn’t send him to the daycare and instead took him with me to my dental appointment this time.

Does anyone else feel like if their baby is awake their crying? Even feeding is a nightmare and he cries throughout it just taking a couple sips at a time. Doctors and health visitors say he's fine as gaining weight and just to ride it out basically but it's so difficult! I'm jealous of all the mums that can take their babies out for walks etc., I can't as he'll just cry and by the time I've finished the cycle of a nap (always contact nap), feed and finally get him to stop crying etc he wants to sleep again, it's making me feel so isolated. Are any other mums in the same boat? How do you cope?! I can't even eat for most of the day or get anything done in the house until my partner gets home as hes either sleeping on me or feeding or having a meltdown. I feel so guilty all the time and also feel robbed of the experience of these early months. I know there's probably no solution, I guess I just need a vent or not feel so alone :(

How old was your little one when you decided to take them to their first dentist appointment? And what did they do during the appointment?

Baby girl is just over 7 months old and refuses every form of food I offer her. I’ve tried purées where I hand feed her, offering her the spoon to do herself, offered finger foods on a tray to explore and try but she won’t entertain any of it.
She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth apart from food!
She’ll moan and mouth her hands after I’ve offered her the food as she’s hungry and will then cry until I give her milk (she’s breastfed).
I’m trying not to put any pressure on her and keep meal times fun and light.
Any ideas/tips on helping her transition and try food??
TIA ! X
