Weaning refusal!

Baby girl is just over 7 months old and refuses every form of food I offer her. I’ve tried purées where I hand feed her, offering her the spoon to do herself, offered finger foods on a tray to explore and try but she won’t entertain any of it.
She puts EVERYTHING in her mouth apart from food!
She’ll moan and mouth her hands after I’ve offered her the food as she’s hungry and will then cry until I give her milk (she’s breastfed).
I’m trying not to put any pressure on her and keep meal times fun and light.
Any ideas/tips on helping her transition and try food??
TIA ! X

My daughter is exactly the same, I think it’s a case of just carrying on trying unfortunately 😖 I know with my daughter it’s got to be at really specific times for her to want to try anything I give her, I’ve also found that she works better when it’s “busy” around her, so she’s better trying little bits when we’re out VS in the house, it’s almost like it’s not the direct pressure of just me and her, she’s also better trying when we’re all eating (her older sister too), I’ve given up offering big extravagant plates like I did with my first and just offering her a little something suitable from my plate! Best of luck, she will get there in her own time! Xx

Has she eaten normal food before?
Or is it just the beginning of the weaning?

Some babies are just not ready for food yet. My firstborn didn’t start eating meals (or be really interested in food) until around 9/10months.
She would have a little nibble here or there, but I wasn’t stressing over it.

All of a sudden, she started eating meals and snacks.

My second, well, she has been nuts for foods since around 5mo. She’d go and steal food from us as soon as she was mobile (6mo).

Don’t worry and just take it slow—focusing on introducing her to allergens

My daughter is the same she was going good but got a cold and since hasnt wanted to know food other than milk iv spoke to professionals about it and for the first year its just about them messing and maybe trying different foods they dont need to be having solid meals till they turn 1 so dont put to much stress on urself about it x

We are in very similar boat but are starting to see success of putting finger food in her mouth. Make sure shes had a milk feed an hour so shes hungry but too hungry before trying food. We also find that sitting down with her eating something similar encouraged her to eat. She won’t take a spoon-feed and does push everything out with her tongue but she doesn’t independently sit and I read that can impact a baby where they on reflex use their tongue to prevent choking. So i’m putting it down to she’s not ready but she’s at least putting things in her mouth now to explore taste which i’m happy with

Fucking Exhausted

Being a mom is wonderful. It truly is. I love my daughter and I love being a mom. But it is so incredibly draining and I wonder if that is because I’m doing it wrong? Maybe my mindset isn’t right? I see so many moms on social media who basically say they stopped struggling because they stopped viewing motherhood in a negative and stressful way. They focused more on the sweet moments and doing fun activities and simply being present with their child. I try that but I’m so tired.

It doesn’t help that I have been in a depressive episode for a year now and I’ve been trying to get out of it, which takes a lot of fucking energy. Energy that I don’t have. My husband is a big help, but he is also tired from work and I try to make sure that when he gets home, the atmosphere is relaxing and he can get comfortable and rest. I don’t want him to worry about my mood or how he can fix how I’m feeling. Because the issue with that is I don’t feel anything other than drained. I’m not angry, sad, happy, stressed, nothing. I’m just tired.

I’m considering getting on some type of medication for my depression, but I always feel hesitant. The last time I was on meds, I had constant suicidal thoughts and it scared the shit out of me, so I stopped them immediately. I don’t even know what I really need right now. I just want to sleep.

Solids for the first time

Baby boy turned 4 months yesterday and was approved to start purées. He had broccoli today and wasn’t the biggest fan but he did so good then took a long nap lol 🥹
What food should I try next?! 🥺

End of our marriage?

Venting Long story short, I had my second child which my husband and I agreed we would only have two children and it didn't matter if they were the same sex which ours are. I recently put in my iud and he's clearly upset about and called me selfish. I absolutely do not want anymore children esp that I'm in 40s and working full time and do 90% of the parenting. I even said even if I considered having a 3rd child would you pay the bills and I raise the kids he said no that's not an option and we would continue paying 50/50 for everything including child care. Like why would I agree to that? I honestly think it's because he don't have control or say of my body and because he doesn't have a boy. I went to traumatic pregnancies and had to deal with my husband on and off personalities and can not see me doing this all over again for the 3rd time. Not sure if our marriage will survive.

First dentist appointment

How old was your little one when you decided to take them to their first dentist appointment? And what did they do during the appointment?

Daycare question

Question mainly for mums with daycare/nursery aged kids. If your nursery uses an App to share information with you, is it standard and consistent or do you have days where chunks of information are missing for example, no meals, nappies or nap time. Just the arrival time on a particular day or only meals on another, or just start time and breakfast on a different day? Also, would you be fine receiving information in this way for various reasons such as occasional busy periods but without being updated on the changes or would you expect it to remain consistent?
