Daycare question

Question mainly for mums with daycare/nursery aged kids. If your nursery uses an App to share information with you, is it standard and consistent or do you have days where chunks of information are missing for example, no meals, nappies or nap time. Just the arrival time on a particular day or only meals on another, or just start time and breakfast on a different day? Also, would you be fine receiving information in this way for various reasons such as occasional busy periods but without being updated on the changes or would you expect it to remain consistent?

I cnt imagine having to be around so many kids and still update an app, so I let it go, if I really want to know, I’ll ask at pickups, sometimes if I know they are doing something fun or different, I ask if they have time to please take additional pics. But if they don’t it’s not a big deal

If they have an app and they tell me that that's how they keep the parents informed on what they are doing to their child I would need them to make sure it works or find another way to contact me and let me know my kid is taking care of.

I’ve noticed that they have a ton of other kids to manage also, then the older the kids get they go to newer rooms which means less updates. Cause when the kids get to elementary school there’s no updates in kindergarten, so I just assume they’re (daycare) preparing when it’s time

We have a physical book that comes home in his bag for things like toileting/ nappies, meals and sleep. Also has a brief description of their day and activity they enjoyed.

We also get daily photos of what they’ve been up to. Sometimes it’s of the whole group at say circle time or when they have music classes and sometimes it’s of my son specifically and something he’s done or achieved.

I personally wouldn’t leave my son somewhere that can’t communicate that information to me - for example, the times he slept make a huge difference to bedtime. What he’s eaten throughout the day makes a difference to what I offer for dinner when he’s come home etc x

Fucking Exhausted

Being a mom is wonderful. It truly is. I love my daughter and I love being a mom. But it is so incredibly draining and I wonder if that is because I’m doing it wrong? Maybe my mindset isn’t right? I see so many moms on social media who basically say they stopped struggling because they stopped viewing motherhood in a negative and stressful way. They focused more on the sweet moments and doing fun activities and simply being present with their child. I try that but I’m so tired.

It doesn’t help that I have been in a depressive episode for a year now and I’ve been trying to get out of it, which takes a lot of fucking energy. Energy that I don’t have. My husband is a big help, but he is also tired from work and I try to make sure that when he gets home, the atmosphere is relaxing and he can get comfortable and rest. I don’t want him to worry about my mood or how he can fix how I’m feeling. Because the issue with that is I don’t feel anything other than drained. I’m not angry, sad, happy, stressed, nothing. I’m just tired.

I’m considering getting on some type of medication for my depression, but I always feel hesitant. The last time I was on meds, I had constant suicidal thoughts and it scared the shit out of me, so I stopped them immediately. I don’t even know what I really need right now. I just want to sleep.

Baby not clingy

Hey! Is anyone else’s baby not clingy at all?😂 my son is 9 months old and I’ve been waiting for the dreaded separation anxiety to kick in but that’s not happening lol. He will let anyone put him to bed and anyone hold him, never reaches for me or looks for me in a room and it is sort of upsetting me😂 I know some of my friends babies will not let them even leave the room or want to be held by them and only them but that’s not the case with my son. I feel he would be fine going off with a stranger at this point😂

Is my son just super independent or will it come??

MIL comment to her son

My MIL always tells my husband to take it easy because he’s only one person. We have 3 little ones. Would you take her comment the wrong way? I feel it sounds like she thinks he does everything and I don’t do enough? Or is it just figure of speech?

Am I in the wrong

Am I in the wrong?

Me and my partner had our first baby 6 weeks ago. I had a c section and whilst he was on paternity leave he was great. He helped around the house, helped with changing etc.

Since he’s started back at work it’s all gone down hill. I need to ask him majority (not all) but majority if the time to either hold her whilst I get jobs done or change her. He will cook for us and occasionally do some chores but otherwise I feel like I’m nagging him to do stuff around the house.

I EBF so I understand he can’t help with feeding in the night but I’m up changing her and feeding her in the night and I feel like I’m up with her majority of the day too. He’ll go on his game whilst I’m sat downstairs with the baby.

Today I had a migraine so I asked if he could have the baby whilst I nap for an hour but then I felt bad for doing it.

Don’t get me wrong he’s a good dad but he’s got lazy when it comes to helping me out. That’s what I think with this situation anyway I don’t know if I’m overthinking it.

What to add?

I’m doing a mural in my kids room and he requested trees, mountains, animals. But the hills and green area feel naked. Any suggestions on what to add? Within reason ofc I’m a Pinterest mom not Picasso

Lunch ideas.

Hi all, my 18 month old does not like normal lunch things and I am stuck with ideas. He doesn’t like sandwiches, wraps, omelettes, pin wheels, quiche. He is allergic to dairy, tomatoes and peppers. Does anyone have any lunch ideas? At the moment when he isn’t at nursery his lunch involves 2 packets of sweetcorn crisps and fruit
