I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and when I had my growth scan my baby was too small. Does anyone have any advise on how to increase my baby’s size without effecting my GDM.

how small are they? sometimes the babies just are born small but the good thing is they're prepared for it so can be there to give your LO any assistance that they need. your team should be able to give you more detailed advice, but keep eating lots of protein and veg xx

I was told the same by the doctors. I had GDM and growth was all fine until at one point the growth slowed down. Turns out my baby was in breech position and it’s harder to get an accurate measurement. It caused me a lot of anxiety at the time but everything ended up okay.

Protein helps with GDM and growth maybe upping your protein would help but double check with your midwife/Dr but I can't imagine upping your protein would ever be a problem. X

I had a small baby without GDM, because of placenta deficiency (well I think it was the reason, who knows). Isn't the risk with GDM that you get a baby that is too big?
I was so worried about my small baby all the time. My doctor planted all the scenarios in my head and I haven't found a way to help with her growth. The only thing I can say she is now one of the fittest babies I could have imagined and caught up on weight a few weeks after birth.
I have a toddler who is nearly two and half and a 5 week old baby, I am struggling big time.
I’m finding jt so hard to have the energy and patience for my toddler that I just get over stimulated. I used to be such a fun and involved mum and now I am just exhausted. I am EBF my newborn so feel like it is so hard to be there for my toddler. I just feel like a bit of a failure and feel like I’m not coping. Please tell me it gets better.

I really was a little bummed when I learned I had an anterior placenta but at almost 22 weeks my little girl seriously wants me to feel her moving around in me. It’s honestly as amazing as people say it is. I stop what I’m doing everytime.

So after a 40 minute birth, not making it to the hospital & out in 2 pushes my darling girl is finally here. Was hoping for a VBAC and had a c section booked in for today. Labour started spontaneously 🥹 couldn’t be more grateful 🩷
