Hi mums. I am struggling to decide whether I should put my LG in an institution like daycare or a childminder. I have had a look at both but unable to decide. I go back to work in three months so I really need to take a call. Anyone else struggled with the dilemma? How did you decide? Any personal recommendations in south Woodford/Woodford, London? Please let me know and I can dm

You’ll be lucky to get a place in a nursery short notice 😬 I live in Loughton so pretty close! & we had to apply at 12 weeks pregnant for the last place my April baby will attend from April 2027. Same for my toddlers pre-school we had to get the place over a year in advance x
I don’t even mean the fees. The last 3 weeks she’s had two lunch boxes broken and now her coat that I got last weekend is stained with paint. I get their clothes get ruined hence why I usually get bundles second hand from Vinted but i don’t know why she was painting in her coat when she has a puddle suit for outside 😩 I’m just ranting because I know kids get dirty but I can’t keep affording to keep replacing everything 😩

Does anyone else think military school is for lazy parents? I have a family member who has a son who is a few weeks away from being 6 years old. He has a hard time listening and following directions. Many people, myself included and the pediatrician, thinks he's autistic. The pediatrician has recommended multiple times to get him tested but the family member won't. Which is wild to me because we both work in the same place. With mentally disabled adults. But she keeps complaining about how he doesnt listen and doesnt dollow directions and threatens him all the time about being sent away to military school. She'll tell me while the boy is in ear shot or not that shes done with him and cant take it anymore and is really considering military school. To me I feel like she doesnt want to put in the effort to parent him the way he needs. And it feels like she wants the easy way out. It truly hurts my heart because I have 2 boys and I've helped raise this boy since he was born. What are your thoughts?

What toys/ entertainment do people take when going out and little one needs to sit still as they are not able to move around?

I feel like I shouldn’t post in this group anymore as my baby was due 27th October but is yet to make an appearance. But it is also the group I have been posting in the whole time so feels familiar to me.
Woke up at 4 o’clock this morning to do my third pee of the night. Can’t go back to sleep because it’s another night of me not going in to labour.
I know, it’s normal for first babies to be late but I am just getting really tired now. I’m doing everything I can to keep this as natural as a start to labour as I can.
I have had two unsuccessful sweeps, I have been doing all the things to make me happy. When I see people out and about and I tell them I’m overdue they’re surprised by how positive I am.
But this morning I just don’t feel positive, I feel disappointed and let down.
My partner is so supportive, he knows I don’t want to be induced so when I said this morning I wanted to be, he says to wait one more day. I know he is right but I’m still doubting anything is going to happen any time soon.
So I’m just here, awake, not wanting to try to sleep because all I do is think.
Anyone else in the same boat or has been previously? Was there anything natural that people have done to spur on labour? Sorry for the negative post so early in the morning.

5 weeks pp and feeling rage, resentment and depletion. 😐
I feel like nothing I do is good enough. My partner is so unappreciative and just doesn’t understand what it’s like trying to look after and constantly feed a newborn. He thinks that because I’m at home all day, I have so much free time on my hands, when in reality, it’s the complete opposite!
I feel like he doesn’t do enough. He hasn’t changed a single nappy because he just thinks it’s my job. I feed her, change her, bathe her, entertain her when she’s awake and do everything else that comes with being a mum.
I fear I’m growing resentment towards him, and I’m even starting to question whether I’m in love with him anymore his presence just seems to really irritate me at the minute 🥲
Is this normal? Has anyone else felt like this???

My husband is unemployed (not by choice), we have a 6 year old in full day kindergarten and an almost 2 year old at home. I work full time but have a hybrid schedule - only have to go in to the office 2 days a week. So that means sometimes I am at home working, or handling household tasks while parenting the 2 year old.
When my husband is home all day with the two year old, he handles caring for her and will cook dinner.
If I work from home while he has an interview or appt, I will care for the two year old and get household chores done around the house (tidying up, doing laundry, cleaning the kitchen, organizing our daughters toys/clothes). If I’m at the office, I usually come home to a messy house, laundry to put away, etc.
When I asked him how he could help me at home, he said he didn’t know. Said he would be busy with our two year old but could clean up the kitchen. Our bedroom has been covered in laundry for weeks and I seem to be the only one that makes an effort to put it away.
Am I asking for too much when thinking he could make more of an effort multitasking work around the house while he’s with our two year old? Or Should I stop comparing women and men’s efforts with multi-tasking with children?
