Reflux? CMPA? Advice

My 3 week old is a nightmare at bringing up wind, he constantly grunts/seems to strain, his breathing sounds loud, he hates lying flat, nighttime’s are horrendous, pulls at bottle, arches back during feeds. We’ve tried pace feeding, his poos are yellow and he’s not constipated. GP diagnosed with silent reflux. We were put on Gaviscon (half a sachet per feed). I noticed that his pain seems to be marginally worse and not sure if Gaviscon is actually working really. They’ve now advised us to stop the Gaviscon and use carobel, which is a faff due to wait times and needing to shake the bottle.

He has no other signs of CMPA (rash, diarrhoea or blood etc). My first born did have a lactose intolerance for the first 6 months.

Can anyone relate, what shall I do? We’re preparing feeding via nuby, MAMIA milk and using infacol.

Thank you

It is normal reaction to formula if this is what you give them. My baby is mixed fed with CMPA and acts the same after formula top ups even on the hypoallergenic one.. either breastfeed if you can or ride it out. Try another formula although they are all the same tbh.. I

If you think is CMPA, try to go 3 weeks without any dairy to see how he feels and then reintroduce again, it’s definitely worth a shot, since your gp diagnosed him with silent reflux maybe try an anti reflux formula? I’ve heard good things about the hipp one

Sleep

10 weeks this week and it feels like we’ve went from sleeping throughout the night to now waking up every 2-4 hours throughout the night… I thought they were supposed to give longer stretches at this age but instead it feels like we’re getting shorter ones…. Any advice it words of encouragement?😩

Unpopular opinion:

Ladies who have sex a few days/weeks after giving birth are only doing it for their men/to keep them happy/doing it in fear of them cheating & not because they are ACTUALLY ready or horny AND I'm 99.9% sure they don't fucking enjoy the experience either as their bodies are STILL recovering!!!

Love yourselves more ladies & stop letting your men guilt trip you into having sex & using your bodies as sex toys!

When did you feel comfortable taking baby out for walks and coffee ?

I’ve only been out once around day 10 with Baby for a check up at the clinic which was fine but we haven’t done anything else yet and coming up for 3 weeks? Anyone got any advice on when and how to start taking Babies out? Especially living in rainy winter weather

Everyone obsessed with baby

Why is everyone obsessed with taking my baby from me. People taking him and holding him is fine, but the whole visit they will have him and wont give him back to me, i feel they think its a joke and laugh saying i need to share with family but it gives me huge anxiety.

People suggesting i leave him with them to go “rest”, i don’t want to. I want my baby with me he is only 5 weeks old! Everyone has had their time and this is my time.

God mother drama

I made my best friend of 13 years the godmother to my son (she lives in GA and I live in PA. She attended both baby showers in two different states. She is getting married in Mexico next year. At the time I told her it wouldn’t be a problem for me to attend. Now that my son is here and the wedding will happen before he is even 1 I can’t imagine leaving him, not to mention how expensive the trip will be for just two/three days. She offered to help financially, she said my son can attend, but I’m not comfortable traveling outside of the country with him and my husband does not want to go or want me to go alone for safety reasons. After explaining this to her she seemed understanding. I also mentioned how I’m struggling postpartum with PPD AND PPA. She told
Me to just focus on my mental health and my baby and to let her know for sure by a later date if I could attend or not closer to the wedding. After this conversation she began to ice me out and not really continue conversations. She hasn’t asked about her godson she was so excited about or checked on me after opening up about my mental health. I confronted her about my feelings and it didn’t go well. To sum it up she feels upset and says she knows I have a village and chose to take space from me. She says I want her to get on a plane for the third time in 6 months when I can’t get on a plane for the only thing she asked me to attend. Which I didn’t not ask her to attend both showers and it was her idea to visit once he was born. We both have been there for one another through it all and it hurts to know she isn’t there for me at such a difficult time in my life and has not even asked about her godson. I think our friendship is over. Anyone have any thoughts?
