Everyone obsessed with baby

Why is everyone obsessed with taking my baby from me. People taking him and holding him is fine, but the whole visit they will have him and wont give him back to me, i feel they think its a joke and laugh saying i need to share with family but it gives me huge anxiety.

People suggesting i leave him with them to go “rest”, i don’t want to. I want my baby with me he is only 5 weeks old! Everyone has had their time and this is my time.

Just walk over and take your baby back. So many mums experience this post partum and just end up resentful towards family and friends for it. I would smile and stay polite, but if people aren't listening to you, just act x

Could you maybe try keeping him in a baby carrier? So its harder for them to get to him. Then if they ask say awww he is sleeping atm and nice and comfy. Or say oh he is due a feed, then go and see to him in another room out the way?
Or could just put a temporary stop on visitors say you arent feeling well or something similar. Protect your peace 🩷
I do agree though i find it so bizarre this type of behaviour. I always try to take my cue from
The parents and only hold baby if offered etc cos everyone is different.
Mine is 9 days old and I get anxiety even when my 4 year old son holds him🤣
And even my mum I had to tell her not to kiss baby lol x

I'm 13 days pp now. I've been the same, my family came over day 7-8 and I struggled so much, had to take the baby off my mum at one point because I just couldn't sleep knowing someone else was holding him..

Our neighbours are desperate to come over to see him but I end up in tears just thinking of people coming into the house right now (unless it's a medical person with a reason eg health visitor). My husband did tell me I was being silly but my mental health support worker has told him to give me some time, which I appreciated.

I knew I was at risk of PPA anyway so have been under the local maternal mental health team since month 6 of pregnancy, I'd recommend asking if you can be referred to yours if possible. They can help back you up if you need it, or help you see how irrational you're being if needed.

Sleep

10 weeks this week and it feels like we’ve went from sleeping throughout the night to now waking up every 2-4 hours throughout the night… I thought they were supposed to give longer stretches at this age but instead it feels like we’re getting shorter ones…. Any advice it words of encouragement?😩

Unpopular opinion:

Ladies who have sex a few days/weeks after giving birth are only doing it for their men/to keep them happy/doing it in fear of them cheating & not because they are ACTUALLY ready or horny AND I'm 99.9% sure they don't fucking enjoy the experience either as their bodies are STILL recovering!!!

Love yourselves more ladies & stop letting your men guilt trip you into having sex & using your bodies as sex toys!

God mother drama

I made my best friend of 13 years the godmother to my son (she lives in GA and I live in PA. She attended both baby showers in two different states. She is getting married in Mexico next year. At the time I told her it wouldn’t be a problem for me to attend. Now that my son is here and the wedding will happen before he is even 1 I can’t imagine leaving him, not to mention how expensive the trip will be for just two/three days. She offered to help financially, she said my son can attend, but I’m not comfortable traveling outside of the country with him and my husband does not want to go or want me to go alone for safety reasons. After explaining this to her she seemed understanding. I also mentioned how I’m struggling postpartum with PPD AND PPA. She told
Me to just focus on my mental health and my baby and to let her know for sure by a later date if I could attend or not closer to the wedding. After this conversation she began to ice me out and not really continue conversations. She hasn’t asked about her godson she was so excited about or checked on me after opening up about my mental health. I confronted her about my feelings and it didn’t go well. To sum it up she feels upset and says she knows I have a village and chose to take space from me. She says I want her to get on a plane for the third time in 6 months when I can’t get on a plane for the only thing she asked me to attend. Which I didn’t not ask her to attend both showers and it was her idea to visit once he was born. We both have been there for one another through it all and it hurts to know she isn’t there for me at such a difficult time in my life and has not even asked about her godson. I think our friendship is over. Anyone have any thoughts?
