No judgement please.

My life and myself has gotten to rock bottom. I’m struggling with the whole autism life and honestly I feel like giving up my son to his dad. I feel like I’m failing him and he has no life with me. I’m honestly scared to take him out because of the meltdowns and he’s loud! I’m not that person that will let people stare I am shy and quiet. We are awaiting autism assessment. I have more stressed days than happy days. I think he’s severe aswell and not looking forward to the future at all! I am depressed and I have spoken to the GP. I have no family just my partner. All he does is cry, winge and be loud and neighbours have commented on how he’s always crying. I feel trapped and have no hope.
My question is will it get a little bit easier?

As Another autism mom who feels like she’s at the end of her rope most days, once communication becomes better it will all even out. Find what works for you and your son keep putting names to feelings and encouraging he let them out in healthy ways. It’s discouraging some days it really is but it will get easier.

I'm also in the same situation, I am awaiting a doctor's appointment to talk about options to help my mental health, my son is 6 and waiting for his autism assessment, I already have one child that Is diagnosed autistic, you are not alone lovely, I hope you get answers soon, I've found it alittle but easier as far as meltdown by noticing what his triggers are and I try to lower the chance of the triggers happening (not always possible) but you've got this us Sen mums are stronger than we think just gotta remember your not alone, my inbox is open if you need someone to talk to that's going throu the same thing x

No judgement. It’s so hard, especially when you are sleep deprived and learning to navigate something new with zero routine or certainty. It throws life completely out of balance. How old is he? What helps you to regulate when you are feeling overstimulated by the noise? Tell me some good things about him that make you happy? In which situations do you feel safe with him?

The worst for me has been sleep deprivation and not being able to communicate with her. She is slowly learning makaton and Ill be honest I avoid alot of things that will trigger her at the moment as she doesnt cope in busy places etc. I go to groups for SEN kids when I can, nursery helped with some support too. I had to find what helped her cope. She likes hiding do a tent and sensory lights etc. How old is he ? It is totally normal to have days like this as it is hard, theres no guidance and we learn as we go. Ignore the negative people. Does dad help? Are you together ? Can he help at all? Have you tried a special needs buggy and ear defenders if he gets overwhelmed outside? Does he like music or a tablet device? My daughter will sit in her buggy sometimes listening to music through her tablet and zone out a bit. I hope you find what works and get some help and rest.

Regretting having my 3 kids back to back

I’m writing this as an extremely exhausted mummy while feeding my baby to sleep for her nap as I have no other time. I have an almost 4 year old, 2.5 year old and 8 month old so I’ve basically been pregnant back to back. My first was 9 months old when I fell pregnant and 2nd baby was 1 year old when I fell pregnant with my 3rd. My body feels more unfit and knackered this time around (I’m 34). I’m feeling constantly like I’m not doing enough for someone, despite my husband helping me and being hands on as he does drop off and pick ups for nursery I deal with the mental load and keeping things as organised as they can be. I suppose I’m on my own most days but I’m fortunate the kids go to nursery during the week so I only have my 8 month old 24/7. I love motherhood so much but finding that because they’re all so young it’s hard to enjoy it and everytime I’m with my eldest and the 8 month old just the 2 of them I can’t help but fantasise about how much easier a 3 year gap would have been. I would have been able to be more independent as a mum but I feel bad relying on my husband’s help so much when his family make comments that he does too much etc and he should take it easy. Makes me feel so incapable as a mum and I wish I had age gaps now 😢 does this get easier? I would just appreciate any words of encouragement really x
Just to point out the comments from his family aren’t direct to me but I can tell by how they talk to him/ message him etc. for example if we host family at Christmas they will tell him to sit down and take it easy but wow it’s intense with 3 little ones plus I’m still breastfeeding and baby isn’t sleeping well yet so still sleep deprived x

Anyone actually use their nursery in the first year?

I see so many people saying “don’t worry about getting it all set up! You won’t use it for the first year anyway!” But I’m that person who got it all set up and I’m in love with it.. I know my baby will be in my room for the first 6 months… but realistically will I get to use the nursery at all?

Opinions

Hey Mummas, we have my husbands Christmas works party in December, it’s about 30 mins from home, but instead of getting lifts/ taxis we’ve decided to book a hotel for the night and arranged for my sister to have little man over night. He will be nearly 6 months! But this will be the first time leaving him over night and we won’t leave until late afternoon and come back mid morning, but I feel really guilty, is this normal? Has anyone done anything similar? Any tips?

Toddler reigns

My 13m old just wants to walk everywhere! But I live in a village with the main road being right next to our house so was thinking of getting some reigns so he can walk safely with me as he’s starting to hate the pram.

Any recommendations of which ones are best? Are they even recommend anymore as I know they can be controversial? (Not sure why as I see them as being safe?!)

What are we buying our toddlers for Christmas?

My little girl will be 20 months by the time Christmas comes around, I don’t want the house full of useless toys taking up space we don’t have, so what are good things to buy that will actually get used? She’s currently obsessed with taking lids off things 🤣
