Need advice 😢

My little boy is 1, turned 1 on Tuesday. He’s always eaten amazing; everything we have given him; loads of fruit and veg; home made stuff; porridge etc, never had anything with salt or sugar. On Monday we went to soft play and as a treat along with all the other children I let him try chicken nuggets and chips with a bit of ice cream and his birthday cake. After we got home we had a buffet and I let him try some different stuff there, a tiny amount of chocolate, like a quarter if that of sausage roll etc. Nothing was in massive amounts just enough for a bite and a taste.
Tuesday and Wednesday he was sick quite a bit, but assumed it was from the soft play as he was putting the plastic balls and toys in his mouth, he was having milk fine but gone off his food.
Fast forward to today he has been having milk absolutely fine but been off food completely, and has been crying and whinging non stop from morning till night (literally, morning until night non stop). Have been giving calpol and nurofen when his been at his worst but his just not his self at all and I’m getting worried.
I feel like an awful, shit mum for letting him have these foods as his so young, I just thought for his first birthday for a treat he could try something. Now I’m scared because I’ve done this it may be linking to why he’s not eating his healthy meals I’m making, he won’t even touch his porridge and is having tiny sips of water throughout the day. Have I ruined his eating? Is it just a bug? I don’t know how long they last but we were doing so well and now I feel like I’ve ruined him and it’s all my fault 😢😔😭

Most likely coming down with something after softplay. Theyre known for this sort of stuff unfortunately

Hopefully it passes by quite quickly and hes okay for his birthday 🎂

I suspect coming down with something and has a sore throat. So many germs this time of year, plus softplay plus buffet there's so many chances to catch something. A good test to put your mind at ease about ringing the eating would be or offer him a bit of a sausage roll or something he really liked. If he still refuses it then you know he's coming down with something :)

Anyone actually use their nursery in the first year?

I see so many people saying “don’t worry about getting it all set up! You won’t use it for the first year anyway!” But I’m that person who got it all set up and I’m in love with it.. I know my baby will be in my room for the first 6 months… but realistically will I get to use the nursery at all?

Regretting having my 3 kids back to back

I’m writing this as an extremely exhausted mummy while feeding my baby to sleep for her nap as I have no other time. I have an almost 4 year old, 2.5 year old and 8 month old so I’ve basically been pregnant back to back. My first was 9 months old when I fell pregnant and 2nd baby was 1 year old when I fell pregnant with my 3rd. My body feels more unfit and knackered this time around (I’m 34). I’m feeling constantly like I’m not doing enough for someone, despite my husband helping me and being hands on as he does drop off and pick ups for nursery I deal with the mental load and keeping things as organised as they can be. I suppose I’m on my own most days but I’m fortunate the kids go to nursery during the week so I only have my 8 month old 24/7. I love motherhood so much but finding that because they’re all so young it’s hard to enjoy it and everytime I’m with my eldest and the 8 month old just the 2 of them I can’t help but fantasise about how much easier a 3 year gap would have been. I would have been able to be more independent as a mum but I feel bad relying on my husband’s help so much when his family make comments that he does too much etc and he should take it easy. Makes me feel so incapable as a mum and I wish I had age gaps now 😢 does this get easier? I would just appreciate any words of encouragement really x
Just to point out the comments from his family aren’t direct to me but I can tell by how they talk to him/ message him etc. for example if we host family at Christmas they will tell him to sit down and take it easy but wow it’s intense with 3 little ones plus I’m still breastfeeding and baby isn’t sleeping well yet so still sleep deprived x

Opinions

Hey Mummas, we have my husbands Christmas works party in December, it’s about 30 mins from home, but instead of getting lifts/ taxis we’ve decided to book a hotel for the night and arranged for my sister to have little man over night. He will be nearly 6 months! But this will be the first time leaving him over night and we won’t leave until late afternoon and come back mid morning, but I feel really guilty, is this normal? Has anyone done anything similar? Any tips?

What are we buying our toddlers for Christmas?

My little girl will be 20 months by the time Christmas comes around, I don’t want the house full of useless toys taking up space we don’t have, so what are good things to buy that will actually get used? She’s currently obsessed with taking lids off things 🤣

Holidays with a newborn

Hi guys! I need some opinions or advice about having a newborn during the holidays. My baby girl will be about a month old by Thanksgiving, and originally, I really didn’t want to take her to anyone’s house. The thing is, if we go to my family’s house, we would also have to go to my husband’s family’s house, and my husband really wants to spend time with his family during the holidays. 😒

For those of you who had a newborn around the holidays, did you take them to family gatherings? If so, how did you handle it? I’m worried about her being passed around and potentially getting sick, especially since she’ll still be so little. Of course, my husband wants his family to be able to hold her, but I’m just not comfortable with having everyone pass her around when her immune system is still developing.

I’m trying to find a balance between letting family spend time with her and keeping her safe. I’d love to hear how you guys handled this! ❤️
