Constantly chewing minty gum helped me 😊 I always just stuck to fruits, that was the only thing I could eat

Avatar

This may sound weird but I had horrible morning sickness and kicking or sucking on a lemon really helped! Avoid sugar and try to eat healthy. Also just try to eat period cus I know that’s the hardest part.

Avatar

I found that eating little but often worked wonders for me

Avatar

Popsicles helped me stay hydrated as I couldn't swallow much of anything when I had morning sickness. Just plain sugar-free ones or fruit ones were my lifeline.

Avatar

Saltine crackers!! Place some by your bed and have 3 before you even get out! Carry the around in your purse with yiu and have some as soon as your stomach start feeling wonky! All I could eat for the first 3 months was raw veggies with ranch or salad. Pb sandwiches were okay sometimes. Big hugs, I understand how much it sucks.

You can also ask your doctor for a prescription for diclectin..it helped me soooo much!

Ginger tea helped me.

Avatar

I had it really really bad.
You have to eat otherwise it’s worse 😫

Avatar

For me ice tea and crackers help! Before getting out of bed I eat and drink sweet (I hate it, but it helps) but the morning sickness is getting worse and worse so I have asked for medication- antihistamines prescribed by the consultant- the help!

Avatar

Idk about y’all, but besides eating food I wasn’t craving, brushing my teeth really triggered it. If anybody’s dealing with that, using a kids tooth brush, brushing slower, and switching to a scentless or sensitive toothpaste really help.

Also, avoid brushing within an hour after you throw up because you don’t want to rub stomach acid into your teeth and gums. Mouthwash is cool if mint doesn’t trigger your sickness. Cheers.

Sour foods. I ate lots of oranges, lemon water, jolly ranchers, etc. I put lemon on my food or vinegar.

Avatar

I finally had meds prescribed, but staying super hydrated and carrying around saltines helped. I learned that if I ate a bunch of small meals (cheese & crackers, basically just snacked all day), never really letting myself feel hungry, I felt A LOT better. So carry a water bottle and put a snack by your bedside / desk, and stock your purse for the day!

Avatar

Ginger chews are awesome, ginger tea, I actually had a jar of pickles on the side of my bed just to get up during the first trimester. Also ask your doctor for nausea meds

Avatar

For me adding Vitamin B6 and Unisom, and taking them before bed helped out a lot. And Unisom is 100% okay during pregnancy. My doctor actually advised it for me.

Avatar

Fruit like watermelon helped me, or dried fruit, or simple things like crackers, or toast with peanut butter. I tried to eat small amounts of food regularly, if I got too hungry or overate I got very nauseous.

Avatar

I am also pregnant and had the same exact problem! A friend of mine told me to try Unisom sleep tablets and b6 pills! You can get both from the local grocery store. But ever since I started taking those I have been feeling amazing! I still throw up like once every couple days but that’s better than the 4-6times a day before trying it out 😭🙏🏽 it’ll help!!

Avatar

I got Diclectin from my doctor and it worked wonders. I am not sure if you want to avoid medication, but this was amazing, no side effects for me and it made going to work bearable. Hope you feel better!

I had it so bad that I lost 40 lbs and was hospitalized. I still have it at 27 weeks. Hopefully it goes away for you! Normally when your hormones even out at the 2nd trimester the sickness is gone or more manageable.

Here are some things I have rotated through as a “natural” way to relieve the sickness. I did try getting prescriptions for it as well but they made me more sick or have migraines.

-Try taking more Vitamin B6
-Preggie pops or a hard candy to suck on.
-Reduce sugar intake.
-If you have trouble eating try to get some kind of non dairy protein drink to help you sustain energy and not loose weight.
-Drink peppermint tea before bed.
-Take prenatals before bed instead of in the morning.
-Get an all natural Ginger candy to suck on. Gin Gin is a good brand.
-Try eating smaller meals and if you aren’t hungry drink water.
-Drink more water even after you throw it up (it can be really hard but helps you not get dehydrated)

Morning sickness is the worst, I had it pretty bad in my first trimester. Eating small meals and snacking on salty foods helped (like crackers and chips), ginger ale was a life saver. Also lemon and ginger tea helped immensely. Sometimes I also used to put a lemon wedge in my mouth 😂 just try to eat light and avoid greasy food and sauces, and you should be ok. Good luck and hang in there!! 😊

I had hyperemesis gravidarum (sickness all day) for the entire pregnancy. I ate things that didn’t taste as bad coming back up (lemon gelato, Odwalla smoothies, candy, etc) but it was extreme so I was losing weight. Maybe try small bites of saltines as soon as you wake up (before you even get out of bed), some lemon preggo pops, seabands, and ask your doctor about zofran and reglan? They’re safe during pregnancy for nausea if you want to go the medicine route. Diclegis is a combination of unisom and B6 and can help also, women take it daily. I hope it gets better momma!!!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Avatar

I find eating small amounts constantly keeps the nausea at bay. Lots or carbs unfortunatley. Or anything ginger flavoured... Ginger tea, Ginger beer/ale, dried ginger

Avatar

I used preggie pops!!!

Avatar

peppermints, salty food, sugary drinks. in bad cases- cbd oil (will NOT get you high)

Avatar

Eating crackers before getting out of bed helped me so much. Just have 3 or 4 before you get up and then make sure to have breakfast right away.

For general nausea feelings sour skittles really helped. Not sure why lol

Avatar

I used peppermint oils and it worked wonders. I rubbed it on my belly and wrists. I would sniff the oil on the wrist when I would get a bad wave of nausea. (I don’t sell oils, it just really works).

Avatar

I’ve heard the “pink stork” stuff is good. They are an Instagram and I think Amazon

Avatar

ZOFRAN! I had severe morning sickness all day long from literally week one of my pregnancy and now I’m 20 weeks. I take one zofran every night before bed and I wake up not feeling nauseous in the morning. I don’t know where I’d be without this medication 😂

Avatar

I had horrible morning sickness in my first trimester and was barely able to eat anything besides bland food. I did find that drinking lemon water (nestle splash lemon) helped tremendously. It was about $2.50 for a six-pack at family dollar and similarly priced at Walmart want giant as well.

Avatar

sorry girl. nothing really helped me through my morning sickness besides just letting it run its course. in the morning try taking it easy and give your body time
to wake up and not get up so quick. i would eat something small like crackers before i stood up and drank some room temperature water (cold water made it worse for me) and stay hydrated as much as you can or else you could be making a trip to the hospital soon!! hope you feel better soon.

Avatar

I had it so bad and didnt really go away for me till i reached the six month mark 😔 i found salty food like ready salted crisps really helped , always in my hand bag just in case! Fresh air, go for that walk even if you are tired made me feel better and take it eady don't over do things. The housework can wsit and let your partner cook. I lived on take out as couldnt stomach home cooked food first 3 months. Drink plenty! Isotonic drinks are great at replacing sugars and salts and give you a boost! If it gets too bad doctors can prescribe anti sickness.

Avatar

Saltine crackers, Gatorade and ginger chews helped me.

Avatar

I had the worst sickness at the start of my pregnancy and it didn’t go till maybe 6/7months! I tried everything that everyone said!! Ginger biscuits worked for a day or two but lemonade helped with the acidly taste!

Avatar

You can try preggie pops or Preggie drops! They sell them at Walmart or target usually. Also sometimes it can be your calcium. The only thing that helped me was almond milk!

Avatar

I was horribly ill during pregnancies. I would eat when I wasn’t nauseous and if I was I’d try to drink Powerade and just nosh on bland stuff. I ate chimes ginger chews and sucking on lollipops helped some. It went away as swiftly as it came on as the pregnancy progressed. The hcg has to drop. Typically that resolves it. Hang in there! :)

Avatar

Ginger ale did wonders for me. Never had morning sickness with the first but this ones kicking my butt!

Avatar

On week 8 and it’s been hitting hard. I bought a ton of healthy snacks (kettle chips salt and vinegar) (cliff builder bars, Luna lemon bars, precut fruit, etc) and eating constantly saves me from wanting to completely throw up. Still rough tho. Zofran is sounding pretty good. Lol

Avatar

I had HG for 6 months but just to give you some peace of mind, it probably wont last as long. Make sure you ask your doctor if theres any options to keep you comfortable at home. Pregnancy can bring out sensitivity in the body so if you have any food irritations i would suggest avoiding them. I have acid reflux but it was heightened when i was going through morning sickness. Pedi light helps, coconut water, rice crackers (because theyre so damn plain), real fruit popsicles, and saltines.

Avatar

Sea bands!! They didnt make it go away but i felt an improvement. They sell them at target or amazon. Maybe walmart

Avatar

Ginger anything, and make sure to snack throughout the day instead of actual meals. I had HORRIBLE morning sickness. These are the only two things that helped. If I gave myself the opportunity to get hungry then the nausea got so much worse. I was able to vomit while driving cuz it was so bad. 😑😑

Avatar

Preggie Pops and Drops saved me! They have ginger in them but dont taste like butt. I drank Smart water for the electrolytes, even if though i could only hold it down for like 30 mins bc it QA better than nothing. Hang in there, Mama!

Avatar

I had morning sickness from the moment I woke up to the time I fell asleep.. it was terrible! At one point I had broken down and started to cry.. what helped me was A sea band. You can find it at Target .. or preggo pops . Also Pink stork tea ! Good luck mama . You got this 🥰

Avatar

I had morning sickness my whole pregnancy. It was more like all day sickness. The only things that helped were eating small meals and snacking. Snack between each meal, drink a lot of water instead of drinks that have a lot of sugar. Try not to eat anything high in fats, fried, with a lot of cheese, etc.

If you stick to your snacks and eating on time. And the lesser fried foods, less high on sodium meals, less salty, less sugary foods you eat the less you’ll get sick.

At least that's what worked for me. The healthier my meals the less likely I was to get morning sickness. Also make sure to take your prenatal vitamins, they usually help too!

Avatar

Honestly the ONLY thing that helped me was Zofran. I tried copious amounts of tums, I wore sea bands, sucked on ginger drops and preggie pops, drank ginger and pink stork tea, seriously everything I could think of. Nothing really helped except the Zofran. But everyone responds to different things. Try out some of these and see what works best.

Avatar

My doctor has recommended vitamin B6 to take instead of zofran, as zofran has a tendency to constipate. Maybe try that! Also, I keep saltines by the bed and eat one or two before I even get out of bed in the morning.

Avatar

Little snacks throughout the day. Milkshakes/smoothies and cup of noodles got me through this first tri :)

Avatar

Keep a snack on the bedside table even if it's some crackers or a pb&j. Eat before your feet touch the ground. A couple bites.

Do active babies in the womb become active newborns?

I had my 40 week ultrasound yesterday (on my due date) and the doctor mentioned how active my baby is. Curious as to your experiences regarding if your baby was active in the womb, are they likely to be active when they’re newborn? 😊

Early Labour?

I’m 34 weeks today, since 3am I’ve been having irregular cramping which becomes quite intense and has caused me to vomit. I’ve also had diarrhoea. Could I be in early labour or could I just have a bad stomach? I feel generally well in myself

Movements at 31 weeks

Does anyone else feel like their movements are more subtle since being further along in the pregnancy? I can feel my baby moving inside my belly but I don't feel the movements as "strong" when I put my hand on my belly. Not sure if it's because they've changed from "kicking" to "rolling" movements.

Anyone else feel the same?
