@Rachel thanks that’s really helpful
@Ritzy so make sure you're not putting super thick clothing on him when he's in the carseat! It can affect how snug the carseat harness can get. The way to if the snowsuit is too thick is to: Put your baby in the sweater/jacket/snow suit. Put them in carseat and tighten like you usually would. WITHOUT loosening the harness, unclip and take baby out Take baby out of winter gear, put back in carseat. If it is loose on him after the removal of the winter stuff, then it is dangerous for him to wear in the carseat! Best practice is to cover in blankets, especially for bucket style infant seats. It also helps with Temperature regulation because babies can overheat in all their winter gear and a warm car. Their bodies don't regulate until 18 months!
@Rachel thanks ,,, the car seat says 14 kgs my baby is 10 but with the sweaters And snow suits it’s becomes very difficult to manage
You can also join a carseat CPST ran Facebook group (SEATS) they have safety techs that answer questions from making sure the seat is installed properly and how the fit is for baby
I got a car starter so the car is warm when we get in. I also layer her with blankets. We go for a walk every day just so we can get out of the house. I dress her in a winter coat and have a stroller bunting bag that can we used up to -10. Also hat, gloves and booties. For rainy, windy and super cold days I use my rain cover which keeps the rain or the wind out and kind of keeps the warmth in.
