Changing baby’s nappy post c section

This might be a silly question but just thinking about how I can make things more practical and easy post section. I have a changing table upstairs but downstairs I intended on making sure I have a nappy caddy with everything I need for me and baby to make sure I don’t have to go up and down stairs through the day.
But I don’t have a changing table downstairs. Thinking I might just put a changing mat on the sofa beside me and changing baby’s nappy there? Or any other tips? I imagine it will be hard to bend down so trying to think practically. Thanks

I’d clear a spot on a table downstairs (if possible) rather than the sofa as it’ll be easier in the early days post section to stand and change the baby. Plus in the early days they don’t move too much when you are changing them!

Oh thank you! Yes I guess on the sofa beside me I’d have to kinda twist and that might be awkward. I suppose I could put the mat on the kitchen table and do it that way… can’t think of another option!

I’ve had 2 sections and wasn’t atall able to change on the sofa during the first few weeks both times. Standing at a table works grand tho 👍🏻

We used the dining table as a nappy changing table to begin with as its a good height and space, and ate our dinners on the sofa instead 😂

We brought an extra changing mat & a box to put everything in it & just using our dining table. Its the perfect height

I had this problem. The first 2 weeks my husband changed her when downstairs and I would change her upstairs if he wasn’t around as couldn’t bend. When he went back to work at week 3 I just had to bend over and change on the floor but it was very hard and sore. My C-section wasn’t planned and I didn’t know how long I’d be unable to bend for. I wish I had got one of those travel cots/ with a changing system on top of it and set it up downstairs. I now need to buy a travel cot anyway so will get one of those incase I need a C-section if I have another

I did the same and put a changing mat on our dining table, so we were at a good height and not twisting x

I've had 2 c sections and managed with a mat in the floor but depends on how you're feeling!

I kept a pack and play that had a changer down stairs and baby’s room was upstairs.

I found changing her on the floor, my lap or the sofa easiest for me

I got really lucky where my partner did 90% of day time changes after my section (I did half at night as we had a changing mat on top of a set of drawers) on the odd occasion I had to do them, if he'd popped out or was doing something else I would use the kitchen counter or table. Only when I was driving again did I even risk using the sofa

We had success with the pack’n’play that has the built in changing station and bassinet. It was a great height to limit bending down. It was also nice because it limited clutter since it had the diaper caddy attached where you could leave diaper cream, diapers, wipes, etc.

We will be keeping our playard downstairs which has a changing area on it so we have something easy downstairs and his regular changing station upstairs in his room

I’d definitely go with a table over a sofa if you can, height will be better plus newborns love to pee everywhere as soon as their nappy is off

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Newborn stage

Is anyone tired of doing the same thing everyday and being on a 2-3 hour schedule? It’s the same everyday and I feel like I’m losing my mind. It’s making me depressed even if I get out once a day. When does it get better? I feel like I’m just waiting for the next stage where it’s not just sitting around all day.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
