Just realised I haven’t put a birth announcement on! Well today is my due date but little man was born 10 days ago!
Name: Milo
Due Date: 20th May 2023
Birth Date: 10th May 2023
Birth Time: 2:20am
Weight: 7lb 8
Labour Duration: 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Any other details of your birth you’d like to share:
Was due to be induced on the 10th due to rises pi and large baby however daily CTGs was required and they decided to induce suddenly on the 6th instead due to poor trace.
Hormonal induction failed (24 hour strip & 2x 6 hour gel) so had waters broken and put on the oxytocin drip but my cervix just wasn’t doing what it was supposed to however my body was (so was mixed signals between the two causing my bp to start to drop) doctors decided it was dangerous to leave us any longer so had a grade 2 emergency section 10 minutes later!
Little man was born very quickly completely fine for them to then say he was an average size after all the extra tests and stress they caused through the pregnancy 🤦🏼♀️
Was discharged at 10am the following day, definitely happy to be home and recovering slowly but surely!

Congratulations - he is perfect 💙
Had they estimated how big they thought he was? We’ve been told our little one is bigger estimated 8lbs at 38 weeks but I keep seeing more and more of how wrong they can be.

thank you! They told us he’d be around later 9lb-10.5lb !! Was a very big shock when we saw him and we only had 0-3 clothes in the hospital bag 🤦🏼♀️ partner had to go get some newborn clothes from home n even they was to big !

@Katie when they said that he was going to be big, was you told what centile he was on or if u had polyhydramnios - which was why they estimated him big?

they just said above 97th centile and the fluid was a normal level. There was no medical reason for him to be estimated big

@Katie ahhh okay, I'm currently 38wks and having him on Tuesday by c section as I have polyhydramnios and estimated last week being 8lb5. I'm not really taking any notice as all I see is that they get it wrong all the time but be just my luck he will be bigger than smaller 🤣x

I had polyhydramnios and estimated big baby. Their measurements were correct to a T. Baby was born 8.13lb two weeks early

@Laura ahh really, il soon find out how right they are when his here on Tuesday 🙈

it’s crazy! The only measurement they got right was his head! The last scan we had we was told he was 7lb 6 and the consultant told us the measurements was wrong because they was so out from all the other measurements (we had weekly scans)
