I loved it I had a good experience and all the staff was good to me, and walked me through the whole process and different options you have.

I had a great experience at San Jose Kaiser. The ladies who helped me were fantastic and had very good energy. My baby was sunny side up so I had to do a ton of positions to try and help her move into a better position and about 3 of them helped me get into different positions as I had already taken an epidural. Without them I’d probably need a C section, instead I vaginally birthed a almost 10 pound baby girl 🥹

Hi!
I gave birth at Kaiser Santa Teresa
& I had an amazing experience. I had one issue with a nurse but once I spoke to the midwife it was quickly resolved. They were very attentive, kind, and communicated well. Especially as a first time mom I wasn’t sure what to expect and they talked me though everything and was very kind.

can you say more about the different options you gave you as far helping the birth along and pain management? I’m due in December at Kaiser

I had my girls at Kaiser (Santa Clara and South Sac). Both good experiences and appreciate the nurses so much!

I like how they have all the classes available at Kaiser, especially as a new mom. Also, lactation folks are super helpful.

I had decided I only wanted the laughing gas or other minor pain management option but the laughing gas wasn't available the first time. The fentanyl did nothing for me. I wanted to try the bath tub at South Sac but didn't have time.

I gave birth at Kaiser Santa Clara and it was great. They spoke to me about everything they were going to do and they monitored me really well and checked in regularly. Baby's heart rate went down with every contraction, so they wanted to try injecting some fluid to float the cord away (they thought maybe the cord was by her head). They told me and waited for my ok before doing it.

I think they have all available pain management options on their website.

I got an epidural, second degree tearing, no other complications. Baby was healthy with no complications as well.

The only thing that sucked was they had trouble getting an IV in me. It took them a few tries. I've been told I have very tricky veins, whatever that means.

Birthed 3 times at Kaiser on Homestead. I didn't experience c-sections or epidurals so I can't give you feedback on that. The ONLY thing was with my 2nd, one of the nurses was very pushy on my breastfeeding. It got annoying and she kept telling me I was doing it wrong. Otherwise, everything else was great. I felt babies and I were very well taken care of.

I personally had such a bad experience at Kaiser Santa Clara that I want to do a home birth for the next one.

First Midwife Appointment

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, I've been left full of worry is this normal?

She came to my house, she was so lovely I do feel lucky to have such a good midwife. The meeting was about an hour and a half.

There was so much information to take in I was very overwhelmed!
She went through all the scans testing etc, I never knew there could be so much 'wrong' with a baby. I have now booked an early scan I am freaking out.

I've been googling statistics all morning

No bleeding after c section

9 days post op and I’ve not been bleeding at all.. I only bled some clots for the first 24-48 hours but nothing after that. Midwives are advising this is normal, has anyone else experienced no bleeding after c section?

Braxton Hicks vs early labour — anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced going into labour with only Braxton Hicks contractions — so more like discomfort or tightening rather than actual pain — and not realising that labour had started.
I’m currently 39+3 and had a sweep yesterday. I’m already 1 cm dilated, baby is 1/5 engaged, and the midwife said she could feel the baby’s head. My cervix is soft and short, so all the signs seem positive — it feels like we’re just waiting for baby to arrive now.
During my appointment, the midwife also noticed I was having 2–3 contractions (just tightening in my bump) without any pain. She mentioned that some women can go into labour without realising it and advised me to keep an eye on them. She even suggested that what I’ve been feeling so far might be what’s helped me get to this stage.
So I’d love to hear if anyone has had a similar experience — I know it’s not impossible!
Thank you 😊

What if I don’t want an induction?

Hi everyone, I’m 39+1 weeks, my next midwife appt is on my due date which I am happy about however hope I go into labour before then. I have had slight twinges and small pains, however nothing has happened yet and I am gutted as I really don’t want any type of induction. Say I get to 41+ weeks, and I don’t want any type of induction, what happens then? This might be a very silly question but my midwife isn’t helpful and would rather hear from others as opposed to doctor Google. Thanksss! X

Soft spot concern

I took my little boy into the doctors for a chest infection earlier and they said she concerned over his soft spot hasn't closed yet and is quite sunken.. but he's not dehydrated and putting on weight well, so have done some type of advice and guidance to paeds and said they may want to look at his brain/head or may be nothing, called a doctor in and he said he'd never seen anything like it even working in paeds, which has now made me worry. Anyone else had the same or similar?🥺😭
