Baby keeps rolling on to side in cot

My little one keeps rolling on to his side in the cot no matter how much i gently roll him back to his back. I really don’t know what to do i can’t sleep knowing its not safe until hes a year old but he really just pushes back when im rolling him or hell just roll straight back on to his side 😩

My little one does this! I freaked out too but doctor told me it’s ok as she does it herself so she can get back herself. Not safe if we put them in that position but ok if they can do it themselves x

The last two nights my little girl has discovered she can sleep on her side, and if she’s not on her side she currently wakes up because apparently any other position is pants right now 😅 As Rachel said, if they are rolling onto their side themselves it is safe. As is sleeping on their front once they can role onto their front and role back. Rule of thumb if they put themselves in that position continuously and it’s not a one/two time fluke, they clearly know to to do it themselves and therefore it is safe. You need your sleep. If you are really concerned talk to your HV. If he is swaddled, it would be best to transition him out of swaddles, and into a sleep outfit where his arms are free (such as a sleep bag/arm free swaddle) to support him if he were to move and need to unmove himself. I hope you feel a little more reassured, big hug! 💕

If they can get themselves there then they are safe xx

Same with my LG, she does it from 5am or so and I let her as we both get a bit more sleep! Many times I wake up and she’s on her back again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks everyone, what a rough night! I just worry cos he can get on to his front but he gets stuck and then his face is just smushed in to the cot, he then cant get back on his side. I guess he’d make enough noise if he gets stuck on his front that would wake me up should it happen - i just worry that i may not wake up when this does happen and he’d suffocate.

Just to add he is almost 4 months and has great head control, he sleeps in a sleeping bag so has his arms free but he’s rubbish at using them, when doing tummy time they just stay tucked in and elbows bent so maybe ill encourage him to use his arms more during tummy time today! X

Ahh if he gets into his front then I understand you’re more worried. However you said he has great head control and he would 100% moan and cry if he’s uncomfortable, and you would 100% hear him 🤗 My LG is the same with the arms 😂

The not waking if needed was such a worry to me. Literally I was neurotic about it and didn’t sleep for the first few days after she was born! I quickly realized that was no good for either of us lol so I invested in a Snuza Hero. It was the best £100 I ever spent as it is peace of mind!! Clips onto her nappy and flashes green if all is ok. If it senses no breathing after 20 seconds it will flash red and vibrate to stir baby and remind them to breathe. If after that nothing for 10 seconds it will sound an alarm which trust me will wake you! Like anything there can be false alarms but personally I would rather be woken for a false alarm and all be ok. When I wake in the night I glance at her and see the green light flashing and know all is ok so easily go back to sleep. Maybe something like that would help? Happy to send link xx

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
