Bub takes only one side at a feed

My Bub feeds every 2 hours and most of the time only one side(10 to 15 min) and gets sleepy and not taking other side much ..due to this he wakes every 2 hrs though he is in the 8th week.Anyone facing this ?Tried diaper change before to switching to other side and end up only only few minutes feed..

Midwife said as long as he gains weight this is fine but am like feeding him 10 times and getting back pain :).. seems this is normal thing to move on

A few midwives and my lactation consultant have suggested having bub in minimal clothing if they’re falling asleep at the boob. The idea is that they’re then cool enough to remain awake. You might already be doing this, but if not, maybe it will help a little?

Happening with me too. 😭

My Bub started only doing one side at a time too. Similar time for each feed, although sometimes it’s longer (20 min). My midwife said it’s normal for some babies and 15mins is enough now supply is established and baby is more efficient (6 weeks). My breasts have regulated to know this now and I’m getting good stretches between feeds again🤷🏻‍♀️

I have only ever fed my baby 1 side per feed, I hope this is normal haha. And it varies between 7 minutes to 25 minutes, depends on him I guess sometimes he drinks quicker than normal. He's gaining weight like a pro so I'm guessing there's nothing wrong with this :)

mind if I ask, what did your breasts being regulated look like? From a bub feed duration, pump and which side perspective? I ended up getting a lazy right boob, still producing milk but the ratio is 1:5. 20mL and 100mL when I pump 1030pm at night after shower.

Great that this is working for you! I think the two sides thing is partly about making sure your supply stays consistent in both breasts, but also about avoiding any potential engorgement issues or mastitis. But if you’re not having any issues, that’s great!

I have only pumped 3 times over 6 weeks! So can’t really comment on that. I’ve now ditched my app that I use to time as well. Just letting baby take the lead and trusting her now that I’m feeling confident. If say she spends 10-20mins total each feed. My breasts don’t really feel ‘too full’ anymore. I know she’s getting enough by her nappies and weight gain.

Am I overreacting?

My LG goes to nursery 4 days a week (3 half days and 1 full day). We have to provide our own nappies and wipes and were told when they’re running out so we can restock, which is fine.

My issue is, the last few days, my LG has come home in a random nappy from a brand that isn’t hers and she’s started to become sore down there. When my partner brought it up to the baby room manager, her response was ‘oh well, babies are babies, it doesn’t matter and they pull them out the drawers’. For one, the drawers are high up as I’ve seen them so shouldn’t be getting pulled out and 2. If I’m providing nappies, use them because what if the persons nappies being used, can’t afford a lot?

We’ve had no issues with the nursery until this but I wonder if maybe I’m overreacting about it?

Car seats

I’m so sorry if this is a stupid question but I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby. What happens with car seats in the back of the car? My other two are still in car seats they are nearly 4 & 2? Where will the new born car seat go? Am I being stupid?🤦🏽‍♀️😂😂😂

Advice needed

I keep waking up feeling like a bad mum!
My boy is 13 weeks old, for the last few nights he’s started stirring so I’ve popped his dummy in and he’s gone to sleep. This has resulted in me feeding him at about 4/5am after his last feed at 9/9.30pm. After that feed he won’t wake up fully (just stir and I pop dummy in until about 9/9.30am) I’m not questioning whether if I’m starving him through the night! Should I give him the dummy when he stirs or should I be offering him a feed?
Would he settle with a dummy and go back to sleep if he was actually hungry? As I know through the day when he’s hungry nothing settles him other than the feed so sometimes I have to feed him earlier than the 3 hours he usually goes.
Through the day he’s having about 6 feeds and he’ll take 160ml-170ml each feed. Is this enough to sustain such long gaps through the night? He appears to be gaining weight well , hes fit in 3-6months since bang on 12 weeks and he’s a very happy baby when he’s awake.

Visitors of newborn.

I’m feeling a bit anxious about having visitors after I get home from having my baby. I know a baby’s immune system is immature for the first 2 months of life and don’t want her to get any germs.

I am worried about family members turning up and not telling me their poorly like got a cough or viral thing. My question is has anyone ever visited your home and been poorly?

Visitors.

This will be my first C-section but third baby.

How long after your baby’s birth did you have a visitor ie close family like mum / dad /sister / brother?
