It’s biologically normal for a baby to wake frequently ☺️
I don’t expect to sleep through the night until my boy is a toddler (or even beyond that)

While it is biologically normal to wake st night if hungry, one of the biggest things that helps get longer stretches of sleep is making sure baby is "just right" tired, not over or under tired. Look up wake windows and use them as a guide to find "just right" tired for naps and nights

what is frequently though? Because I feel like people inadvertently dismiss actual issues/concerns by blanket stating that babies wake up at night.

Literally more than a dozen wakings last night at 8 months old. This is a common occurrence for us. I'm sorry you are having a hard time. It is normal for babies to wake a few times a night, but I completely understand the frustration when it's excessive.

Our little guy was starting to shorten his stretches of sleep and this mama is tired. So, we have been working on sleep training. Don't nurse to sleep. Look up Ferber method and weaning the night feed. That's what we have done and it seems to be getting better.

Not doing anything wrong in some instances (more rare) babies sleep thru but most babies wake up once or twice for a feeding till one or after!

Also if baby is teething they will e
Wake more at night time

Ur not doing anything wrong hes just not there yet and needs a bit more time being soothed by u

I think some babies naturally are great sleepers who sleep through the night (lucky parents!) and others naturally wake a lot. Unless you intervene with something.
I personally don’t want to sleep train my boy. He feeds approximately 6 times + on a good night so we have to co sleep so I get enough sleep.
I guess you have to find something that works if the wakes are too much. Either the sleep training route or co sleep route or maybe there’s other options too

My little one just wants to be on me all night long. He hates his crib and wants to nurse a ton as well. It’s overwhelming and I’m frustrated as well, but I can’t make him sleep 😩
