Worried about Speech

My 22 month old has previously said a handful of words, every now and then will repeat them but only on his terms. But other than that he just babbles a hell of a lot. He understands a certain amount but I wouldn’t say too many instructions and is sometimes rude and ignorant, again on his terms I believe. Is this normal? Or should I seek some advice. His such a happy little boy I don’t know if I’m just worrying. Being a mum sucks when your anxiety kicks in and you can’t help but compare your child to others. 😔

My little one is exactly the same! I'm just encouraging him as much as possible and doing it all on his terms :) I don't think it's anything to worry about personally xxx

My oldest is now 3 and started talking early and will have a full blown conversation with you and knows songs word for word. Literally he sings Michael Buble to me. My youngest is 22 months, same as yours, but was walking climbing and kicking a football earlier. So when I read in to it cos I was worried babies master 1 key life skill at a time so excel in one before the other. My youngest will use a spoon but my oldest has only recently mastered this. Don't worry too much hun their brains are still developing and these milestone checklists are a pile of shit and outdated x

Makes me feel better I’m not alone. You see some children understanding complex instructions and I can just about get my little one to bring something to me 😫😂. My little boy just has no interest in learning or repeating but I’m trying everyday. Thankyou for replying xxx

I have to point at my little one and say 'ta' and he'll get I want it bringing to me. Other than that he'll ignore me... He looks at me so I know he's listening lol. They're awkward little people lol xxx

This makes a lot of sense to me actually. Physically my little boy is climbing, kicks a ball, was a little later with walking but crawled and rolled etc.. really early. Also loves using utensils actually. You just get so worried don’t you with these milestones. Feel like his way off to them which makes you feel like you’re doing something wrong. Hopefully some more words soon he starts pre school in January hoping for a few by then so he isn’t going in without being able to communicate as his understanding is there but not with complex instructions more can you pass me something.
Thankyou for replying lovely xx

Mine is the same! I think she’s just a bit of a free spirit and an independent thinker haha, and he’s probably the same ❤️

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
