Initially my nipples used to be very sore and bleed too..I supplemented with formula and pumped and used nipple shields and silverettes till my nipples healed and then it got easier with time..hand express and apply your own breast milk on your nipples and place the silverettes it will help you heal soon.

Good luck! It will get easier trust me. 🙏

You need a lactation consultant

Breastfeeding is not supposed to be painful, it’s supposed to be soothing for both mom and baby.

I try and remember all the reasons and research why I wanted to in the first place! It’s what’s best for my babies!
But it sounds like you need to see a lactation consultant and has baby been asses for oral ties by a trained pediatric dentist?
The pain your describe sounds like it could be a tie

Do you have a breastfeeding support group in your area? They really helped me with positioning and latching! X

I tried to focus on how important it was to me to be able to feed my babies and reminded myself the pain would pass and it did after a few months x

I have been dealing with this on and off for weeks 😭 I’m sorry that you’re also experiencing it. First thing / work with a lactation consultant to determine if latch is an issue.
For pain management, I found that silverettes were amazing to help healing between feeds, especially as a barrier between clothes when I sleep at night. A compounding pharmacy made me a cream which helped to sooth them too. Air drying between feeds is also important in combination with the silverettes (alternate).

Breastfeeding is not supposed to be painful. Most of the time it means the latch is not good. You should get help in person.
