Changing nappy

I was just wondering if mums change baby's nappy before or after a feed? My baby girl is three weeks old and i've been changing nappy after a feed but feel bad when the milk has made her sleepy afterwards.

When my girl was waking up in the night I would change her then feed to sleep and put her down - I fed and then changed in the day to signify the difference between day and night if that makes sense x

My daughter is 3 weeks old and is bottle fed but I feed her half her bottle then wind and change her then finish her bottle and wind her x

I heard it suggested what said

At Night-
Change then Feed to sleep

During day-
Feed then Change to keep them awake

My son wakes up I feed him on the right then burp then
Change his diaper then feed on the left burp again and then put down to sleep again

I do before so that he is awake to eat

Thanks everyone. She doesn't tend to poo straight after feed (bottle) so I may do beforehand or half way through x

Before

We git advised when he was born to change before a feed so we've stuck to that

Irrelevent to original post but she has been asleep since 11pm!!! Longest she has ever slept at night!!! Shame I couldn't sleep at same time! X

Night time when he wakes I feed Change feed so he’s had a tiny bit and doesn’t scream 🤣day time change then feed. Lately at night tho I’ve fed than changed him and he hasn’t woke up 🤣 yay

brill haha x

Tend to change after as he likes to blow his bum hole out mid feed 😂. At night I have been doing mid feed.

If I change him before he immediately poo’s so I give him what he wants from bottle & then burp and change him then give him the rest ❤️

glad my boy isn’t the only one 🤣🤣🤣

I do it mid feed when she starts falling asleep as it wakes her up again but she’s still drowsy and will then go back on the boob x

boys will be boys. Although I like to think mine learnt from the best, aka me 🤣

Both 😅 he won't feed if he's uncomfortable with a wet/dirty nappy. He then usually poops mid-feed so it's another change straight after, the amount of nappies we're getting through is insane!

It's frustrating especially at night when they're sleepy from the feed then the nappy wakes them but I do skin to skin to settle him back down.

Avatar

I changed her nappy mid-feed. Took two hours to settle her. Checked nappy and it needed changing again 😑

I’ve had to change Hetty after feeds as she has such a windy bottom and is EBF so there is no point doing it before hand! I have to feed, attempt to burp which is hardly ever, lay her down for 5 minutes and let her wiggle and get it all out. I’ve just started to offer a dummy which wasn’t what I wanted to do but she was using me as a dummy and that helps her back to sleep then I take it away xx

Avatar

I always changed him then fed him so he could doze straight off.

Avatar

At night I feed, then change, then feed again as it’s much easier to change him when he’s sleepy but he’ll wake up by the end of it so another feed sends him off again

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
