I’m currently changing from breastfeeding with one bottle to almost exclusively pumping, would like to still breastfeed in the middle of night unless she decides she doesn’t want to breastfeed anymore or can’t latch after having bottles during the day.
When I pump currently I just always do 20 mins on the side she isn’t feeding or both sides when she has a bottle.
Now I’m doing more bottles should I keep pumping till milk stops or is the schedule 20 minutes okay if I have about the right amount of expressed milk I need?

If you aren’t fully emptying your breasts pumping your body will tell itself to slow down milk production and you may unintentionally decrease your supply. If you think it’s enough milk after 20 min that’s great, but personally I’ve always emptied (35 min per session).

I always emptied, which for me took 12 minutes per session, and just spaced sessions as I wanted to. The tracker Pump Log in the App Store lets you track 50 sessions free if you just want to know how much you make in a typical day or week
Do you just feel empty or how can you tell? I’ve been using Elvie stride while I’ve been breastfeeding aswell but have also got a spectra s1, it’s not obvious to see if milk still coming out with elvie! Perhaps easier with the spectra?

I’m an oversupplier and can definitely tell when I’m empty or empty enough, you learn over time
I think I’ll try emptying the cups and pumping for a bit longer to see if I get any more!
