How are you surviving?

Hi Mamas,
Any 2 month old breastfeeding moms here?
How’s your sleeping schedule? Does your baby sleep on their own? If you want to get a massage or get your nails done what do you do with your baby since they are breastfed ? Do they tag along?
My baby only sleeps on me, never in his own bassinet. Also he’s nursing around the clock .. not sure how to start working out or take some self care days … help 😬

Hi! My LO is almost 6 weeks old. I EBF. She eats every 2-3 hours during the day and at night has been sleeping a long 6 hour stretch the past week which has been so nice! I’ve found that keeping her awake during the day has helped her sleep at night tremendously. My husband will stay with baby for an hour here or there on his days off to allow me to get out of the house for a little bit. But I haven’t gone too many places yet I feel so bad leaving every time 😭😭

what do you do to keep her up. my baby sleeps on the boob while still eating.

I started pumping to make it easier. If I have to go somewhere, I pump just before leaving, and bring a wearable pump if I have to pump in the car while I'm out. But I haven't gone anywhere except for doctor's appts, grocery pickup, and target. I would not bring baby to a massage or nail place.
Baby mostly sleeps on his own except for contact naps during the day. If my husband stays up late, I'll let baby sleep in bed with me.
He doesn't sleep long at night though. Every 2 to 3 hours and he wants to eat again. My issue is falling back asleep after diaper change/feeding. By the time I fall back asleep, he's awake again!

I just mean making sure she doesn’t go past 2-3 hours without eating during the day. If she falls asleep on me I will wake her up to feed her if it’s been longer then 3 hours. I also have been taking her outside, I lay a big blanket down in the shade I try to keep her stimulated during her awake windows even though they aren’t that long!

Hi momma!! 2 months on Tuesday but my baby sleeps for 6 hours every night (thank god). She eats every 2-3 hours (breast fed and formula). But I never leave without her so I make sure that when I have appointments it's around the time she is done eating. When in doubt I put her on the boob when im out. Or I have a bottle of formula I just need to mix with water. I have her go on walks with me which is my workout for now and she will sleep during it. I tried to leave the house without her (left her with my very capable, trustworthy and loving parents) and got 15 min down the road before I had a melt down and had to drive back 😂.

I would avoid letting them sleep at the breast as much as possible because that’s just cause for nursing and then they are going to want to do that everything and not let you get things done. I would keep them awake at the breast until they are just so tired and they realize they are full and once they are completely tired burp them and do some rubs up against the back and lay them down that’s how you annoys them being too clingy, I would also not bring baby with you there are really strong chemicals in there and we ourselves shouldn’t be breathing it in and so shouldn’t the baby but you could leave your baby with someone you trust and pump some milk leave it in the freezer the night before and then pump again the next morning before your appointment ( earlier morning appointment) and there your baby has 2 ready to go meals for whoever is watching her/him

My 7 week old had jaundice for awhile so doctor wanted us to supplement with formula- which we noticed makes him much more sleepy than breastmilk. So I breastfed and pump when needed during the day and do a formula bottle before bed and that will let us get about 5hrs straight. So now it’s a combo of formula and breastmilk. It allows me to leave the house and husband feeds the baby via bottle when I’m not home

I’m taking my time. I am fortunate enough to have my mother to help me if I need time alone but I much rather be with my baby. But go out! You’re going to breastfeed in public which is greatly supported and only take 20 minutes at most. Pump milk to have if you’re worried about breastfeeding in public and I’m sure people will understand that the baby needs to eat. And idk if you’re working or not but you’ll find sleep at some point and you can always workout at home. It’s not the end of your life when you have a baby. They just gonna have to tag along ☺️ plus have friends help out for even an hour to just watch the baby as you take a nap. You got this!

I breastfeed but also pump multiple times a day to build a supply in my freezer. I’ll just pump before I leave. Usually it works out that I’ll feed my baby before we leave and if he is hungry while out and about I’ll just feed him the bottle of milk I pumped. My baby is really good in the car seat though and usually sleeps while he’s in it. I did go to the nail salon once to get my toes done, it was only an hour and he slept the whole time.

Haven’t gone out much yet but my husband will take her for a few hours so I can sleep and for sure I’d say pump and get bottles that resemble the breast. My baby hates the bottles rn so it’s been hard but I got recommendations on the Evenflow balance bottles and lansinoh since they are similar to the nips. Baby is starting to sleep more at night but for sure a bath and white noise and a tight swaddle helps settle her more. I let her contact nap but for at least one of them, I work on getting her to sleep in her bassinet so it makes her used to it. If she cries I pick her up and settle her and try again even if it takes a multiple times I feel like it helped her know I would come if she needed me but used to the bassinet If that makes sense. But definitely sometimes just gotta baby wear and remind yourself that it takes time cuz it really do be stressful

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
