For the last 5 days exclusively breast feeding. Baby wants to be on boob all the time and seem to be always hungry. On midwife appointment it looks like he gained weight so he should be getting enough milk, also I tried to express and give me bottle. However, baby seems to be hungry all the time and wants to latch on boob. I am so tired as I want to get at least few decent hours of sleep but it seems impossible.
Shall I top up with formula or what could be the issue?

Probably cluster feeding. It takes 6-8 weeks for your supply to regulate properly. I'm afraid the best and quickest way through is to just keep feeding on demand, its hard but the feeds will start to space out and give yiu more of a break soon enough! As long as they're gaining weight & getting lots of dirty/wet nappies then there's no need to use formula too. Your body is amazing and working with baby to give them exactly what they need

Cluster feeding passes as quickly as it starts, we had a bout of her feeding ten minutes every half hour which was a slight killer but just set yourself up with drinks and snacks and go with it
They also want a lot of comfort at that age so might be sucking for comfort not hunger, but it’s impossible to overfeed an EBF baby so don’t worry xx
