Wearing compression socks after c section

How long have you to be wearing compression socks for after a c section? I’m hearing mixed answers some saying until swelling has went down on feet and knees and some say 6 weeks? It’s making me not want to leave the house having to wear them all the time! I’m also taking blood thinners as well for 6 weeks.

And also when do people take the plaster thing off the c section scar area? I’m scared to take it off tbh

Re
Plaster - the Heath visitor will remove this at the 5 day visit when they check it (I wouldn’t take it off yourself)

The compression socks I wore all the time for the first couple of weeks and then only when I was in bed or sitting watching tv, if I was going out I’d take them off as I knew I’d be walking around for the rest of the 6 week 😊 xx

I only wore mine whilst I was in the hospital and even then lol I got them at 10pm and my section was 7am that morning

And my plaster got taken off on the Sunday, my section was on the Friday. I kind of was still rather numb in the area so I couldn’t feel anything onlt when I tugged at a hair

And again, lol I only had thinning injections for 5 days. So maybe that’s why I didn’t wear the compression socks for that long.

I've had four csections, nobody ever even recommended compression socks.....

Ask your doctor, they’re all going to have different views on this and it may be different for you.

I think I had the socks on for a week maybe less couldn’t physically wear them anymore ! So took them off they was making my legs so achy , and they didn’t put dressing on my scar as they said it heels better with air so I’d say when ever but I would so have a doctor or somone take off just incase x

Baby was born at 9:38 and I stopped wearing the compression socks the following afternoon when I knew I was going home and got dressed. The dressing was taken off the following morning when I went for a shower ☺️ they gave me a pad type thing to put on the cut to keep it dry, but that's it!

6 weeks! For as long as I took the blood thinners 😬 I was too scared to risk it but think you only have to wear them when your not being active, Sat down etc, if your moving about out of the house you don’t need to x

The plaster was removed by the midwife after about a week I think, I was told to keep the socks on for at least 2 weeks until I was more mobile, I was on the injections for 6 weeks, with 2 weeks worth of pain killers

🤣 aww these are fab! I think I was just in a state of shock still & roamed round all over in mine, in the warm weather aswell I looked stunning 😆 x

Nobody told me about compression socks when i had my emergency c-section. They took the dressing off of my scar the same day I had the section the 1st time they went to check it and never put one back on

Bleeding while you pregnant…

I'm six weeks pregnant with my second child. At the beginning of the pregnancy, I had some light spotting. At five weeks, I had an ultrasound and a blood test for hCG levels. The ultrasound showed a bleeding wound, but it doesn't affect pregnancy. My hCG increased by 169% in two days. After all these tests, I no longer saw blood on the toilet paper after going to the bathroom. Then yesterday, I had a little difficulty going to the bathroom, and after that, I saw a small amount of blood on the toilet paper again. Nothing today. I'm going for an ultrasound on Friday, but I'm still uneasy. Has anyone else had this?

Growth scan at 34 weeks

Hi, I went to the midwife yesterday and have been referred for an urgent growth scan as baby has dropped from the 90th to 40th percentile over the last three measurements. Has anyone experienced this? So stressful 😔

Julia Donaldson Party

Hi all, I’m throwing a Julia Donaldson party for my soon to be one year old but finding it hard to find decorations etc!

I have a sign, banner, zog and Gruffalo cupcakes and of course a cake! Also going to bring some books and toys to display.

Just wondered if anyone has done anything similar and could share any ideas?

I know he won’t remember but I want to make it amazing. We aren’t renting a soft play we’re just buying a slide set and a ball pit etc so my son can use them at home! So I just to make sure the theme pops so I can take lots of pictures and show him when he’s older!

Is It Just Me?

Is it just me, or are babies these days developing in their own completely unique way and fast!!

My little one is 6 months now, and honestly it feels like every week brings something new.

Sitting up started around 4–5 months, even though tummy time has never been the favourite activity. Rolling is no problem, but the real interest now is in attempting to shuffle around and explore
Standing with support has become a whole new hobby — anything sturdy enough becomes a piece of “furniture gym equipment.”
Weaning began at 4 months, and by 5 months there was already interest in snacks labelled for 7 months and up. And despite all the movement and curiosity, sleeping in their own crib has been completely fine too.

It’s fascinating watching how different babies grow at their own pace — some rush ahead in certain areas, some take their time, and all of it is perfectly normal. They really do come with their own little blueprint.

My LO definitely needs to slow down 🤣😅
