I’m being induced in like a week and I really don’t want to be but If baby boy don’t come before then…. Well I have no choice lmao.
What are the different induction ways? I’ve heard pitocin makes things wayyy more painful and I really wanted to go without the epidural. I want to talk to my doctor as well but they are kinda pushy with things so I want to make a decision and then ask about that specific way… not giving any chances to be pressured lol!
PS: will pumping colostrum truly help induce yourself?

Some with me with my son. You don't really have to do anything you don't want to. They do try to scare you, ar least that's what I felt also.
I pushed it until the last possible day. I went 40 and 4. Ever though next time around I would go longer if everything was the same.
Can I ask why they are telling you they have to induce?
Also, my experience was pretty terrible. But I have friends who were induced and it was fine and went fast. But I don't do well with drugs, so I'm pretty sure that was my main issue.
Also I wouldn't start pumping there isnt hard and fast evidence on that. I've had people breast feeling their first the whole way through their pregnancy and it didn't do anything to making the baby come early.
what gel and what drip😩
they want to induce at 38 weeks because “he is too small” and they are saying there’s risks of stillbirth because of the placenta. 😕

You can definitely try pumping. Sometimes it’ll help and sometimes it won’t. I definitely will be trying when I hit 37 weeks. I’d you’re trying anything then it doesn’t hurt to try

I had an induction with my second which I really didn’t want but then I also vein enough that I didn’t want to go too far passed my due date and have to push out a larger baby that would tear me.
Because it was my second I was more educated on things. They induced me by popping the water, basically with a crochet needle type tool which felt like nothing more than a cervical check. I fought them on the Pitocin for about 6 hours wanting to wait for my body to contract naturally. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much action so I agreed to very little pitocin and up’d the amount slowly, but only to what I would allow. Handling contractions on Pitocin isn’t fun but handling contractions sucks no matter what. Each one is it on individual battle. I was up for that challenge and was surprised when made it to the end! I can tell you I felt empowered in a way that I didn’t feel with my first and with the epidural. It was an amazing journey.
Listen to the birth hour podcast. It’s a game changer.

38 weeks seem to be the number they like the most. Have you been going in for stress tests?
They were pushing me because I'm old and ended up with Gestational Diabetes. But all the tests I was doing both me and baby were healthy.
I had the pitocin pill. But they didn't say there were other chooses and I didn't know to ask.
yes stress tests and being checked weekly for my placenta and stuff, they’ve found nothing wrong yet. Another growth scan tomorrow and this week I’ll be 37 weeks. I keep going back and forth between they’re trying to push me and get it done and maybe I should just listen to what they say because I don’t want a stillborn🥺

I was started with a mechanical induction with rods (some have the balloon) as I didn’t want hormones. That took me to 2cm and then I had the gel cause things weren’t moving and baby was here in 5h. No epidural and I delivered at 42 weeks.

I just wanted to say that you 100% have a choice about whether to be induced. Your body, your baby, your choice!

Of course you have a choice! An induction is an offer and it's completely up to you whether you accept it or not.
If you don't want the induction, you absolutely do not have to accept it

I had a foley bulb put in at 4pm on Monday, in early labor by 11pm went to hospital at 2am Tues in active labor

Yes I agree with ,that's pretty much what happened with me. Except my son was too cozy and didnt want to come on his own after his due date.
It's scary when they start throwing out words like still born and too small or even too big. But if you feel it's too soon ask more questions and be open and honest with your OB about the conflicts/concerns you're having with the induction or whatever issues you might be having.
That's what I did (and sounds like Ruth also?) and they did ease up and explained where they were coming from and we had a deeper conversation about my birth plan and what I wanted. And i also had to come in for more tests and screenings each week. And I asked if she could massage the cervix also to help open it at the 38 week mark. Which I was only 1.5 cm at that point.
Sometimes health care professionals get caught up in the routine of things and just need to hear your concerns and remember you don't do this everyday all day or for years.....

Hope you can make the best decision for you and your baby and just know your birth plan has to be flexible because your body and baby are the only ones who know what they are doing until everything starts. And even than many things change once labor begins. And not many birth plans go perfectly or to plan.
