Banana ๐Ÿ˜‚

I waited till 6 months to introduce any food (personal choice) and this morning he tried banana! A bit mushed up and some to hold in the skin, he was not a fan ๐Ÿ˜‚ Sweet potato has been a heave and wipe hand job, broccoli is a hit. Iโ€™ve done loads of prep today to store, broccoli potato tots are so nice I ate half ๐Ÿ˜‚ Tomorrow morning we are trying avocado. I seem to have spent the whole day cleaning, Iโ€™ve missed a baby class and his banana poo stank! This weaning is hard work, I miss the milk days already, take me back to the nice old just boob times ๐Ÿ˜‚

Mine shudders with anything she eats ๐Ÿ˜‚ it all goes flying everywhere, I spend so much time trying to pick food out of her nostrils.
But just watching them try new things, new flavours every day makes my day better. Iโ€™ve got a 4 legged hoover and he loves the extra treats.

haha it is funny watching their faces I couldnโ€™t stop laughing ๐Ÿ˜‚ I said today would be ideal to have a dog! ๐Ÿ˜‚

look at him ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’™ Iโ€™ve seen somewhere you can leave a tiny bit of skin on the end for them to hold, no idea how that works tbh Iโ€™m sure Iโ€™ll probably just end up doing the same as you ๐Ÿ˜‚ xx

obviously we removed the seeds which is a bit annoying to do as itโ€™s so juicy but she loved it! Pineapple and honeydew melon were also a hit!! Iโ€™ve not tried sweet potato or broccoli yet so Iโ€™m excited to see how she reacts to that! Hopefully she loves broccoli like your boy โค๏ธ what a cutie with his little spoon too ๐Ÿคฉ gorgeous eyes ๐Ÿ’•

How much are you guys giving each day? I feel really lost with it all at the moment. Iโ€™m reading some are just doing like a couple of spoonfuls of porridge for the day alongside milk and then other books say one piece of veg to start with for the day alongside milk! Then online Iโ€™m seeing sort like little meals with multiple options. Itโ€™s such hard work!

Is it okay to offer a baby chunks of banana/watermelon/avocado? I always pure his food and he LOVES to eat...he will finish a plate of whatever I give him. But Ive never given him a chunk I feel like he'll bite it off and choke

my little boy has bitten off chunks of watermelon and avocado and heโ€™s either gagged or spat them out if theyโ€™re too big! If youโ€™re interested in offering him finger food Iโ€™d definitely recommend the Solid Starts app as it gives you info on how to prepare the food safely for your babies age! ๐Ÿ˜Š

solids start app is fab for showing how to cut and serve food based on there age!

I tried my little boy with a bit of broccoli the other night. I gave it to him to hold & he gagged just looking at it ๐Ÿคฃ. I put it to his mouth and he just instantly cried! My little girl was the same with broccoli. She used to hysterically cry if i put broccoli infront of her ๐Ÿคฃ

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and Iโ€™m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesnโ€™t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? ๐Ÿ˜…

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow itโ€™s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs donโ€™t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so heโ€™s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we canโ€™t just leave him to it. Typically itโ€™s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work ITโ€™S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคก

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? Weโ€™ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks sheโ€™s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, itโ€™s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. Sheโ€™s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
