When did your baby start sleeping through the night?

I’m just looking for reassurance really. My LB has not slept through the night at all since he was born. We got down to 1 night waking but now he’s back to 6-8x a night waking again and I’m just so exhausted. I honestly thought this would be over by now but the end does not seem like it’s in sight. Hoping you can make me feel better by reassuring me that the end is coming soon! Keep hearing that when he gets to 1 he’ll stop but I don’t feel too hopeful!

Frm 3months mine slept thru night x

It's different for every baby. I was unlucky in that respect as mine didn't sleep through until 20 months, and then not regularly until 23 months. But some sleep through waaaay sooner. There's nothing wrong with your bub, it's just how they're wired!

Around that age we started cosleeping regularly which saved my sanity going back to work. There's also a big developmental leap which makes it worse around 10/11 months, which does improve somewhat after (mine went from 8-10 wakes to 4-6)

They WILL get better, you're doing amazingly for coping this far :) x

wow 23 months is a way off!I did sleep training and he did sleep through without nursing just patting etc but that’s all gone out the window again. My beds so tiny adding my LB between his father and I would be a squeeze but may have to happen dependent on what work is like.

this makes me more sad 😂 because I was hoping to hear everyone say 12 months their LO slept through the night!

My son is 3 and I'm lucky if he sleeps 4 hours a night

About 11-12 months he started sleeping through most nights. Since about 13-14 months it's been every night. He's 16 months now. However, he's not one for sleeping much during the day, so he catches up at night x

20 months consistently, a year was honestly one of our worse times in terms of sleep. I think the best thing to remember is that sleep isn't linear, it's one of those things that gets better and worse.

3.5 years old and still waking 1-4 times a night🤷🏼‍♀️

same here with my 3.5 year old!

He started completely sleeping through at 8/9 months, but wakings are normal x

My LG is 14 months and had only for the last couple of weeks slept through the night. I still listen out for her through the night as i am not used to her not waking up yet, lol.
Hang in there it will get better x

Swap little one's bed for a single mattress on the floor, then he can start the night in there, then move in with you and dad can move onto the single. My husband and I did it for months and we all ended up with more sleep. Cots are pointless when you're so sleep deprived!

I've been really lucky with both my children. My oldest slept through from 8 weeks old. My youngest, who is 4 months old, sleeps through most nights already. I'm awaiting the sleep regression, so it probably won't last x

Avatar

From around 5 months old, but he’s prone to every sleep regression so it soon get shaken up when that comes around. At the moment he’ll sleep 12hrs at night, but during a SR he’ll wake 4x during the night and be really difficult to put down for bedtime and naps.
I know I’m one of the lucky ones but every baby is unique and I’ll never claim that it will stay this way. One thing that helps me get my LO to sleep through the night is a consistent bedtime routine, I give my LO a bath most nights as he’s more likely to fall asleep, I make more effort to wear him out on his last wake window and try to make sure he’s had an active day so he’s both mentally and physically tired. I cosleep my LO on his first nap which helps me catch up on some sleep, as he wakes around 6am and I stay up late for some ME time. If you breastfeeding I know some young ones wake more often for cluster feeding so perhaps cosleeping is something you can try?
I hope you manage to squeeze in some Kip soon ❤️

Both my girls for the first time was around 3 months old but consistently from 6 months, my youngest is a light sleeper so she tends to be disturbed more but over time she’s gotten better at soothing herself

my first slept through from the beginning my second is on spectrum of autism so he doesn't sleep and my third wakes ever 2-3 hours

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
