Anyone else really envious of mums that can BF

I just wish our story was different. It started off soooo well but then my baby got diagnosis with a serious condition where gaining weight is a must and I doubted myself, turned to formula, and cannot for the life of me get my supply back up. I am so gutted. I look at mums that have exclusively breast fed and I honestly am so envious. Due to his condition being genetic we may never be able to have any more and I am so so so upset.

It sounds like you’ve had a really tough time and you were trying to do your best for your baby. Be kind to yourself -you’re doing everything you can for him. It’s so hard to ‘live in the moment’ but try to enjoy the time nursing and think of it as bonding skin to skin time - any breast milk you do produce is a healthy bonus for your boy. I hope you’re getting lots of support as you try and boost supply - it’s likely to take several weeks or more depending on how soon you stopped and how interested your son is so don’t be disheartened. You can do it and if you end up combi feeding that’s great - you can have the best of both worlds.

When he was a newborn, i struggled so much with breastfeeding and got so upset. A midwife said to me, dont let breastfeeding ruin the newborn experianxe. That really spoke to me because yes i want the best for my little boy but when he is grown up and it doesnt matter how he was fed i dont want my memories to be how much i struggled with breastfeeding.

I dont know if that helps 🙈 but it was one of those moments to me that really made sense! And now i dont feel bad

Yep 😭 I lasted longer this time than I did my first but wanted to be going now. Tried to pump and breasfeed again after 3 week break but I can't get my supply up I'm so gutted 😭 I've bought a handsfree electric pump that I will use from the start with my next baby to hopefully keep the supply up from the start 🤞

I wanted to breastfeed with this one as I did with my son (only lasted 9 weeks as ended up with a tummy bug and was too ill to even pump so I turned to formula) however I was rushed to theatre and put to sleep, as I was away so long baby got hungry and my hubby made the decision to give her formula. I was heartbroken but she took to the formula so well and slept great I made the decision just to continue with the formula. I still think about it now but honestly she's fed and happy and that's the main thing

Have any of you tried breast milk booster tea? There are a few different brands but generally anything with fennel and fenugreek I think should have the same effect… oats help too so ideally you drink it with oat milk. It really helped for me!

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
