Short naps

I recently have started putting my baby in his next 2 me crib for a couple of his day time naps. It takes about 10 minutes for him to get to sleep (it’s a bit of a battle 🤣), but he’s only staying asleep for 25 minutes before waking and not settling back down. Does anyone have any tips for how to help increase this time? Or will he just learn by himself? He’s used to having contact naps only and he’s 18 weeks today

I am going to try and tackle this next week once he’s recovered from jabs. I am so worried about short naps though as it can really mess up his day!
I heard the first nap of the day is the best to start with as you can recover with a contact nap later if needed.
Also, a really dark room for when they change sleep cycles! Apparently, this is what it’s all about, they wake as they go from one cycle to the next. I think they will just learn to soothe on their own eventually. I saw a thing the other day saying wait 5 mins once they stir, to go in. Then next time 10mins etc.
We have only been contact napping since 8 week jabs. Last night I managed to get him down in his crib before he was in deep sleep. He still needed a lot of support to drift off but I see it as a start!
I’m just getting no relief during the day as he will only nap on me. Xx

My only tip to increase the time is to contact nap :)

If he’s reliably waking after about 25 mins I’d try setting a timer so that you can be there as soon as he stirs and rest your hand on his tummy - this sometimes (not always) helps my little one to re-settle and continue his nap

Mine only sleeps well when she has been fully fed. I've noticed if she hasn't she doesn't stay asleep long. I usually rock to drowsy and put her down if she hasnt already fell asleep feeding. This has only just started to work for me. In the past I have waited until she was in a deep sleep and nothing would wake her then I'd put her down. My LO is changing so much, she has started to feed, then needs a play break and then carries on with the bottle.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
