Naps

My baby is 18 weeks this week - he was born 6 weeks early so his adjusted age is 12 weeks - he’s started waking from his naps after 30 minutes but then falls back asleep in my arms for another hour, anyone else experiencing this? He’s also struggling to go down for his last nap of the day which then makes him so overtired and upset 🙁

Yeah my girl sleeps for 20/30mins then ill pick her up and she'll sleep for an hour but if I don't pick her up she'll be awake. I saw something recently that contact naps are like a recharge of contact for them during the night when they aren't near you. They explained it as a battery and the more contact and time spent with you fills that battery for the night time

Makes sense - He’s been sleeping really well at night only waking once for a feed and sometimes sleeping through, it’s just his naps throughout the day that he’s been a struggling with. I’m wondering whether it’s the 3-4 month sleep regression🤷🏼‍♀️

Yep!! My boy was born 6 weeks early and he’s currently 11 weeks (adjusted 5) but he’s the exact same, the only way he’ll stay asleep is if I hold him or take him out in the pram! Noticed you’re from mirfield too, I’m from Halifax! Hope all was okay with your LO being earlier!

glad to know it’s not just us going though it haha! Oh I need to change that I’m in Wakefield now but I was in Mirfield when I had him ☺️

Yes all was good with him thank you - he spend 16 days on Neonatal! I hope your little one is doing well!!

Yep!! My beb is 11w Friday and has been like this for about a week. Nights are okay but day sleep has gone out the window. Currently tummy tapping him in his cot hoping he’ll stay asleep 😂

I read it’s around this period the maternal melatonin is out of their system. I even posted myself a few days ago and so many mamas are in the same boat. Frustrating but we’re not alone!! 🫂

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
