Nappy burn

Hey all, I had a call from my daughters nursery today saying she had nappy burn from having diarrhoea but prior to today she has had no diarrhoea and her bottom hasn’t been sore or red at all.

I changed her when she got home and she was screaming in pain and trembling when I was wiping her bottom- it is bright bright red all over and looks so painful.

This surely can’t have happened from her having diarrhoea? Surely this has to have happened because they didn’t change her nappy soon enough/waited hours before changing it?

I’m so upset as she’s in so much pain 😢

Hmmmm my little girl has has diarrhoea recently and its been a little red with me changing her as soon as she's been so it is possible they left her sometime in the dirty nappy! It's odd that its come on so suddenly!

Did they use a different brand of nappies? Maybe they don’t agree with her

My boy can get diarrhoea when teething ( not as bad now he’s eating more solids)
But when it was at its worst (2-3 times per feed)
His bun was so bad and he was crying in pain from it and we were changing him straight away.
The yellow cream is amazing and we used water and cotton wool to clean and a flannel to oat dry

I’d definitely be questioning this too as you said it seems to have gotten very sore very quickly. The yellow matainium cream should help it heal quickly. Most nurseries keep ‘nappy charts’ to keep a log of what child had a nappy changed at what time, maybe worth asking to see it?

Usually it'll take a nappy or two to get that bad unless babe is extra sensitive so I'd question their brand of nappies if they don't already use yours and hiw frequently she's been changed. Do they have an app that updates with what they're doing when? Some do and if logged you can see then xx

Yeah she’s never been sensitive- we’ve used 2 different nappy brands. Her nursery use Amazon brand but she’s been okay with these up until now. They log her nappies on an app and there was a gap of 3 hours between a change so she must have done a poo soon after she had been changed 😢 poor girl! I’ll try the cream x

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
