Not sleeping

Is anyone else's 14 month old just not doing great at night again? He's just awful at the moment. He always goes to sleep around 7.30/8, used to probably wake up once but go straight back to sleep & sleep till 6/6.30.

Now he is often fighting me at night, takes a good hr/hr & half to get him to sleep. He will fall sleep then wake around 12ish screaming, I'll sit with him & I can be in there for a good 3 hours. But he will keep getting up, spitting his dummy out, laughing at me. It's draining the life out of me, I'm so fed up with it

I've tried sleep training etc... it's just never worked. I need tips though

How is his sleep during the day? Is he having 1 or 2 naps?

My 14 month was doing exactly the same. Whittled the naps down to one 2 hour sleep a day and it's working a treat. She sleeps at around 12ish and then up at 2pm until 7.30. I'm also doing the whole bathing, massage, book, bottle thing and it's made a huge difference. Although she did wake at 3am thus morning teething ☺️ xx

Yes my LO also screams at night crying so I just bf for comfort n then she settles back down sometimes it can be longer than a minute or two.

Yh she'll laugh during the day when she does that at after her nap and I'd be wanting her to nap longer

It does get draining! I get you! Gp said it's teething but it's been happening over a month or two now

I've never tried sleep training. Sorry o don't have any tips for you but just letting you know it happens here too! It'll pass 🥰🙏😘

My son has never been a good sleeper so it’s not really new to us, been going to sleep late and waking up around 3 am-6 am and then we have to get up for the school run at 7 am

Yup my 15 month went through the same! I put it down to leap 9 but sometimes I never know! Can your partner help? My LO seems better this week but honestly, bedtime is like a roll of the dice these days 🙈 hope for all our sanities it passes!

Hey! I’m Mel a holistic sleep consultant registered nurse and mum of two. This age is such a tough one and really a common one for sleep to go “A bit up the shitter”.

Lots of developing and toddlers starting to learn to be more independent and knowing what they want. As mentioned earlier it is roughly around this age children drop to one nap rough estimate is 14-18 months.

It sounds like you are doing great sometimes having a refresh of the bedtime routine can help as well.

Good luck!!

Had the same issue with my little guy, started fighting bedtime and naps, having short naps and waking a lot at night. We have moved him to one nap and he is back to normal. Also check for teething, he just cut a molar and for the first week he would wake up screaming in the night, it eased off a bit in week two but took 4 weeks to fully come through.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

4 month sleep regression

Does anyone else feel like they’re back in the newborn trenches through the 4 month sleep regression ?? 😭😭 my boy turned 4 months yesterday and the past 3 nights he’s woken up every 20-40 minutes. He does manage to get back off to sleep after I give him his dummy. It’s so strange though because his daytime naps don’t seem to be affected? He has 2 x long naps a day (around 2 hours) and a couple 30-40 minutes here and there and seems fine during them, it’s just his night time sleep! I read it can last for 6 weeks, I pray it doesn’t because I am shattered 🤣🤣

Is this a normal poo?

Apologies for picture included. 1 year old has had a funny tummy since Friday not watery diarrhoea but very explosive and paste like poo and he’s not being eating as much but been drinking his milk and water normally! Today we had this poo though and it seemed a very chalk like consistency and very pale. Just asking for thoughts and advice really. He did also have lots of cream on his bum.
