Elective c-section or induction?

Hi ladies. Due to high blood pressure, I have to choose one of the two pretty soon. Which one would you go for, pleas? Thanks 😊

Having had both myself id choose elective c section

My induction ended in emergency c section and the elective was a much nicer experience. The whole induction for me was a horrible experience id never want again but others will have had the opposite im sure but thats my personal experience/views x

this is my exact experience too! I would 100% choose an elective c-creation over an induction. Mine was a really horrible experience too which ended in an emergency C-section, so I went through all of being induced and the pain for what felt like nothing. X

After being induced after my waters broke but contractions didn’t continue, I was contracting for 2 days from the induction drip and ended up in emergency c section, I would take elective any day, 2 days of contractions, no sleep, no food, and then surgery after I don’t recommend it x

I had this choice as well. I went for elective section. In my opinion, it seems the induction can be quite a long winded and painful process. Don’t get me wrong the recovery form a section is quite intense but when I looked at the stats quite a few inductions end up in section anyway! We also had a 3 year old and childcare to consider so a planned section was easier on that front. Plus I had a horrific birth with my first so knowing I could go straight in all calm was nice.

I went for elective c section over induction. Nice calm experience went in on my allocated day/time went down for surgery and was up and walking the next day. Now 2 weeks PP Had hardly any pain (but I’m still being mindful to take it easy as I’m healing inside etc), everyone I’ve seen has been in awe of how mobile I am post section and I honestly thing being elective makes a huge difference in recovery. It will obviously be alot harder on your body if you’ve been forced into labour first and your body has been contracting/exhausted and then you end up needing an emergency C section which a lot of inductions seem to end up in

I had an induction which ended up in an emergency c-section.. I would have chosen the elective c-section if I had the choice as my body was too exhausted by the time I had to have the surgery. It put a huge stain on my mental health as this was not the birth I envisioned.

this is how I feel too x

If it’s before your due date, I’d personally choose elective c-section. My induction was painful and ended in an emergency c section which was a scary experience as I was worried of loosing my baby girl.

If you do go ahead with an elective C section, make sure that your partner is ready to take care of the baby for the first 24h at least and try to sleep as much as possible directly. Trust me on that, if you allow yourself some proper rest, your recovery will be so much better and it’s only the first 2 days that are really painful/uncomfortable, so another reason to sleep through it.

Hi, another one here who had an induction which ended in an emergency c-section! Never again- the induction was awful and probably made worse by my body not being quite ready despite being almost 41 weeks when I started the induction process, I was only 1cm dilated when the pessary was put in. I will never have an induction again and if I'd known then what I know now I'd have asked for an elective c-section.

I had an induction which resulted in 28 hour labour reaching 9cm and then emergency c section which for me was traumatic - blood loss and failed spinal block resulting in me feeling a lot more than I should have and being put to sleep. If I had a choice between the two I’d go for elective. I really did not want a c section hence I pushed and pushed to deliver vaginally but in the end even with 1cm to go it was not meant to be.
I’m future I would either pick elective or wait until due date

Elective c section! Was induced with my first son and then ended up having emergency c section with him! Was very painful, stressful and traumatic! X

I had an elective c-section almost 2 weeks ago and absolutely loved it! Was such a calm experience and the recovery for me personally hasn’t been nowhere near as bad as I thought. I was offered an induction too but the thought of my body being forced into labour sounded as though it could be quite traumatic. I’ve also heard that some inductions end up with having c-sections anyway. Xx

I was against having a c-section as I wanted to give birth naturally but after being induced and pushing for hours through contractions which was very exhausting and pain that I never want to experience again, I ended up having to have an emergency c-section. I got to 9cm but she didn't want to come out, they even tried to get her out with forceps. If I was giving the option again I would definitely choose a c-section. I felt like I went through all the pain of labour for nothing and it traumatised me xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
