Car parking at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary

I plan on giving birth at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary and have visited a couple of times now but every time we go we really struggle with parking.
Does anyone have any advise on where to park if the normal car park is full as I can see my fiancé finally getting the car parked just as the baby has arrived 😂

I was worried about this but we got there and drove around for a bit until someone left was about 5 mins and then when my fiancé did a few trips it was the evening and the carpark was more or less empty. But if you’re worried there’s an NHS carpark a bit further down the road and street parking too on the road outside x

We had this issue last week! My partner had to park on the street and just keep moving the car, he had to do that twice before finally being able to get in the car park! The parking is just absolutely horrendous at the hospital xx

I’ll be really honest I had my boys at Royal Albert and the parking was horrendous 24/7. My mum would have to park down the road and it would take her nearly an hour to find parking. I’ve never seen such a small carpark for such a big hospital.. sorry it’s not very helpful, hope you manage to get sorted x

I had mine at Wigan but it was early hours of the morning but we ended up just parking on double yellows round the side and thankfully didn’t get a ticket, there is another car park about a 5 minute walk away (if you can manage it😅) it’s down Freckleton street and your first right, looks like it’s hid behind some bushes and that sometimes has spaces xx

Parking was awful. I was having contractions in the car park, with my husband driving us round continuously trying to find a space. We gave up after about 15 minutes and we ended up with him dropping me off at the front and I had to wait on a bench whilst he went and parked on the road. Road parking only is 3 hours max stay so he then had to move it again after 3 hours to a 10 minute walk away from the hospital where there is no limit, as he couldn't find a space again on the car park. Horrendous and the last thing you need when you are in labour! This was around 11am in the morning. I would guess overnight parking wouldn't be an issue, it's just during the day. Really hope you have a better experience! X

My sister gave birth at Bolton and that was even worse (it was bad when I went there 3 years ago and now worse), I’ve been to Wigan a few times and always bad and we’ve picked Warrington this time and that’s not great but we’ve managed better I usually just have to walk across the hospital

We managed to get a spot on the road outside, luckily as I opened the door and was sick everywhere and then had a super fast labour. They really need better parking as it could have gone terribly 😂 x

Go to the long stay car park at the bottom of the hill. Obviously get dropped off at the front then your partner go down there. There used to be parking round near where Bellingham tennis courts were but the pubs shut now so I’m not sure the parking is still there. My midwife told me if you ever go over and your fined just ask for your medical records and it should be wiped off if it shows you’ve paid your display but gone over x

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?
