Feeding routine?

Formula fed - Does anyone else still feed on demand or do you have a routine now?

To make sure my LO has 5 bottles a day, I have to feed her every 3 and a half hours throughout the day but recently I feel like when it’s time for a bottle she isn’t as hungry and may not take it all. Really I don’t want to be going every 4 hours because then it means I have to take her to bed later and I want to try and keep the bedtime routine we have at the moment!

My baby is 11 weeks! He has 5 bottles and is on 7oz! We feed at 5am 9am, 1pm, 5pm and 9pm! We start bath at half 8 then once out into his nursery to feed and then in his next to me to sleep and left to settle himself with camera on and we only go up to pop his dummy in as hes good at settling himself! Not sure what time you take baby to bed so not sure if my times is too late? I am hoping we can bring it earlier soon so its after supper time! Hope this helps xx

Could you do a dream feed to get the last bottle in?

We still feed on demand but it’s roughly every three hours, we aim for bedtime around 9 and wake up around 6 but it really does depend on the day - sometimes he goes to bed earlier if he falls asleep too early!

Wake up time and bedtime always the same, feeds are on demand really. He’s not really feeding in this heat… he’s 8oz down tonight 😣 usually last bottle at 7:15 and he’s down 7:30-4 has a bottle then back asleep until 7:30am. He’s usually had about 30oz by bed time but he’s only had 22oz today and i’m stressssed out

Feed on demand apart from night time where her last bottle is at 8pm then ill do a dream feed at 11pm/12pm before I go to bed then she'll wake at 7am then go back to sleep until 9am

My little one is 12 weeks old, his first feed is normally between 6/7 and goes 4 hours between his feeds meaning his last feed is between 10/11pm.
On his 4th feed we take him up to bed and feed him and put him down in his next to me crib (monitor on etc) this is normally around 7pm ishh! His 5th feed is then normally a dream feed, sometimes he's awake and other times he isn't but it's the only way I can get all 5 feeds in without disturbing his routine x

so do you wake your LO up for the 5th feed? I get worried this means she won’t sleep through if I wake her but I want to make sure she has enough!! X

Avatar

Yes we do! 9 times out of 10 he sleeps through me changing him and then pretty much dream feeds his 5th feed. If he does wake up it doesn't take him long to settle at all - obviously not the case for all babies but hopefully your little one could easily settle🤞x

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Poop question

Hey mommas I’m a ftm and my babygirl hasn’t pooped in two days she’s formula feed and is 12 weeks old. I can tell she’s uncomfortable and I feel so bad. I’ve been doing belly rubs and bicycle kicks and all the things like that. Also gave her some gas drops and gripe water to relieve the gas but still no poop. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for me. Pic so we don’t get lost💕

Who else is out there holding a baby thru the night so his noises dont wake up the house?!

I cant believe im still doing this at 15 months old!!!

My 2nd child is not just the noisiest sleeper but they have always been weird with breastfeeding

I think currently he is having some kinda developmental leap and growth spurt, eating and drinking like crazy and in the middle of the night if he wakes up , it takes ages to put back to sleep and he rolls around making sooooo much noise!!!

And i either have a low supply now OR he loves a fast flow and so he just jumps off the boob when it slows and complains loudly or just talks cutely but loudly! and i have to keep swapping boobs OR i have to get up and hold him and feed so gravity helps and the flow is faster and holding him means he eventually sleeps or at-least is feeding properly so is bloody quiet now! So at 1 am or 3am or often 5am onwards im holding n feeding until he wakes up 🥲🥲🥲

Any tips?

Bottles and feeding

Hi my three months tomorrow old went to bed last night with only four bottles he’s having between 6oz to 7oz it differs but I’ve had to wake him up (anxiety). Because I didn’t think four bottles was enough and I’ve been up all night panicking if he wouldn’t wake up. Any advice for this? X

How’s everyone’s babies sleeping?

My little one is 19 weeks, she used to sleep through when we would put her to bed at around 10pm, she would sleep through until 6-7 am.
Now she gets so tired around 8 pm so we moved her bedtime here, but coming with this is 1-2 night feeds and she’ll be wide awake at 6 am, which I know is still amazing but I am currently as sick as a dog so hasn’t been the best for my flu 🤣.
I’m unsure whether this is the regression though as her naps are very scattered throughout the day with the max nap being 30 minutes through contact only.
Does this sound like the regression? When did your little one start sleeping through again if they ever did? Thanks in advance 🤗❤️
