My daughter is 13 months and is a handful. When she gets cranky in the pram (because she’s bored or not doing when she wants to do) and starts fussing / crying / screaming, only food / snacks will keep her quiet. Same if I’m trying to cook or do something that isn’t playing with her, only a snack will keep her attention and keep her quiet. She’s not good at just playing with toys herself. Basically, I know I can rely on a snack to stop her crying; but nothing else. Does anyone else find this?

Haha yes! My son will only stay quite if I give him a biscuit. Sometimes to save my sanity I will put him in front of tv with a cartoon and a biscuit or two.

Yes! Mine is 22 months and says ‘snack’ and will sometimes go to the cupboard and get them out! I am really worried I’ve accidentally taught him bad eating habits. Im not sure how to get him eating less snacks…

It is very common lovely, please don't feel alone. When on a bus I try and distract my daughter by singing or finding things or playing peek aboo. 13months is a tough age as their communication is next to nothing and they definately know what they want x
