Holiday prep!

Going on holiday for the first time with my almost 6 month old baby girl in a couple weeks!

Any tips for what to pack that I might not be so obvious to a first time traveller with a baby?? Any experiences will be so helpful

I will be taking my pushchair to the gate but what happens at security?

Also i only give one or two formula bottles during the day, can't get her to have more than that as shes been EBF. Is it worth buying the whole milton tub steriliser or is there an easier way? Been using mam bottles in the microwave up til now

Thanks so much

We recently went Rhodes and this is my essentials!
-Travel pram with snooz shade- this is your absolute best friend!
-Baby wrap/sling/carrier - you don't get your buggy back until the luggage carousel!
-wearable towel. Declan lived in his and a nappy!
-pool hat
-Big changing mat and toys for next to the sun lounger! Declan did tummy time on the changing mat with his toys (rather than a blanket or towel as it's waterproof!)
-buy a floaty before you go! Cheap on amazon and expensive on holiday!
-breastfeeding was amazing for us on holiday as it helps with the pressure in their ears on the plane and so convenient not having to worry about prepping bottles and access to water etc etc, but it is very hot breastfeeding in the higher temperatures!

Hope some of this is helpful :)

Also you can get a travel size Milton Steriliser :)

Baby sun cream and calpol x

I went away recently with my little girl to Ireland for security they ask you to take your little one out of the pram and then check the pram manually and you walk through with baby in arms.
Depending on the airport you might even go through special security but I wouldn't rely on that.
Also check when you leave your buggy at the gates where they leave it after, going there it was left just next to the plane to collect as I got off and comin back it was on the luggage carousel we obviously didn't have to worry about the heat so much but I did make sure to bring suncream and sunhat. Swimming wise I would get one of those bodysuit ones that protect against UV raise to minimis how much skin is in the sun and can therefore get burnt.

If you have access to a microwave then there are microwave sterilising bags that you can get or instead you can bring Milton tablets and then sterilise in a bowl with the tablet that way you don't have to bring the bulky kit.
Hopefully this helps :)

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
