Hi mum's,
Anyone else have a 17m that starts biting and slapping?
Mine is doing it to have fun. And even when I am firm with him he still laugh and try to bite me.
Fortunately, it's only me (a bit his dad).
Any recommendations on how to make him stops?
Thanks!

My son started hitting. I told him it’s ok to be mad but not ok to hit. I also say that’s not nice and demonstrated nice with his hand to my cheek. When he hit it after I firmly told him no “because we don’t hit” I put him in time out for two minutes. I only had to do this twice and he understood. After time out I explained he was there because he was hitting and hitting isn’t nice so he touched my cheek and said nice. He’ll still test me sometimes by hitting me then saying nice and touching me nicely but it’s gotten a lot better, mostly he’ll direct it at an object instead of me. Good luck! It’s hard when they can’t express themselves except by doing this stuff.

Thanks Chelsea
How old is your little one?
Not sure mine is able to understand time out yet ahaha

Keep repeating no no no and remove him from that situation. They will eventually get it. Mine is 17 months and whenever I have to correct him (hitting, touching, climbin, ect) he has learned no means stop.

Thanks all
Will try all your tips.
I know it's just a phase to go through :)
