So our EBF little boy sleeps ok during the night usually does 5 hours and then wakes to feed be goes back down for 3 hours. Ish. My problem is after feeding he hardly burps so when I put him back down if I don’t. Manage to burp he’s restless. If I persist and burp him for longer he wakes up and is unsettled. Damned if I do damned if I don’t . It’s so bloody frustrating and feel like I’m torturing poor baby . Anyone else ? Any suggestions?

Do you use any feeding aids? Like infacol or gripe water? Both can be used while breastfeeding, I bottle feed. I’ve sometimes found after giving my LB gripe water I can hear the bubbles in his tummy move up! X

How old is your one? I'm also exclusively breastfeeding and they always say that you don't need to burp a breastfed baby but I have found that a load of rubbish. Anyway, mine is 11 weeks and I've found that recently I haven't had to burp her as much or at all. I tend to sit her up for a few minutes before putting her down again and if she has gas she'll get squirmy or if not she just sleeps. Basically I don't think you need to burp them every time unless you think they need it
