Does anyone else's little one still have contact naps?
My little one will not nap on his cot during the day. He goes down well at night, but in the day whether you put him down drowsy or already asleep he sits up with in a minute and then stands up crying!
He will nap in his pram and car seat though. Should I try each nap with the ferber method? Worried how it will work with his one day in nursery. Thanks x

I’ve only just got my daughter napping in her crib in the last month or so (she’s 8.5 months).
I did the same as we did for night sleep which was basically a gentle version of the “pick up put down” method because we never left her, stayed with her until she settled down. For day time sleep I ended basically having to hold her in the crib to get her to go to sleep, but now I only have to put a hand on her tummy and maybe shush a bit.
So you can do much gentler methods than Ferber, but if you think Ferber would work best for you, go for it. Xx

Most naps are sling / contact naps

Yep contact naps all the way … I’m trying the technique of contact napping then moving away and coming back in 25 min to stroke him and then get back to what I was doing (if I have energy)

I did so many contact naps with my eldest but the reality of multiple children is that it's basically impossible some days. My youngest sleeps in his cot 100% now. I found as long as I was consistent the tiredness and new routine would take over eventually. With any new routine there are a rough 2 days at the start but now I have baby free hours in my day and we are all better for it.
