I'm talking specifically naps here, she's okay at night.
I know we're not supposed to sleep train but my LG doesn't sleep without me rocking her and she doesn't go down easy either. My arm is now injured because of it and I just can't do it anymore. I feel so incredibly lost with this sleep stuff, i dot know where to start even though I've done a tonne of research.
If I leave baby in her bed she just eats her hands and talks to herself for ages before starting to cry out for me. She's never successfully put herself to sleep at nap time. I know she's capable because she has done at night time and also in the night when she wakes. But she just hasn't done it for naps.
The first 2 months of her life she never slept in the day until I relasied I had to make her. That's where the rocking dependency started and it's just worse now as she's so heavy.
Please please any step by step advice would be so helpful. I can't keep this up

I started a nap time routine (soft music, putting her into a sleeping bag and signing a lullaby in her sleep space. I held/fed her until she was pretty much asleep, but still stirring, then put her down. I would keep a hand on her chest and gently pat her bum until she settled. I kept doing this but gradually put her down more and more awake.
I'm not capable of letting her cry it out so if she cried I'd pick her up, settle her, then go again. Once she was better at settling herself i stopped patting but kept my hand there. Eventually i left without putting my hand on her or patting at all.
If she's grissly but not crying, i leave her to it. She often settles herself.within 10 mins. If it goes on longer, i go in and settle her.
Now she often settles within 10 mins without any fuss! Probably took 4 weeks to get here, so not the quickest. I think the important thing is to be consistent.
Really hope this helps you, even a little!

Have you tried holding baby then as you can see she's just about to drift off lay her down & keep a hand on her chest & do the soft sshh, or does she get upset as soon as she is put down
Does she have a binky? Xx

Does she sleep out on a walk? With my first I was take him for a walk at the same times each day so he got used to falling asleep at that time regularly. It’s good for you to get out of the house too! I would do it in the pouring rain and all sorts

I will give it a try! I don't have much hope she'll fall asleep that way but it's worth a shot.
If she wakes while I put her down she can't nod off again. Yes we do use a binky and that helps but it's constantly falling out which is super annoying 😂

she does fall asleep but only after 30-40 mins of walking then if I stop she wakes 😂 I have got a rockit thing though which I haven't yet tried but I will be soon. It's supposed to rock the pram even when you stop so she'll hopefully not realise we're home again

yeah my first was similar.. if I saw people I knew on my walk I would just keep going 😂 helped me loose the baby weight super quick tho, I was walking like 2-3 hours every day!! I did find it helped me mentally tho otherwise I was sitting at home all day stressing about getting him to sleep

I want to start sleep training my baby, sometimes it’s so difficult to put him to sleep

I sleep trained my baby and it worked for us . He sleeps better and longer now x
