Hello,
My 12 week old loves a dummy! If I give him a dummy and put him down when he's tired..he's straight to sleep.
At bedtime..he can get himself to sleep without the dummy most nights. But after every sleep cycle for naps, he needs the dummy reinserting and from about 5am..he continually wants/spits out the dummy cycle.
Shall I phase out now? Any experiences of mum's with other children? My daughter never took a dummy and self settled brilliantly from 3 months by herself š¤·āāļø

My little boy is the same. My MIL doesnāt believe me when I say he will literally go to bed and sleep through until 5am without it!! I get the rolled eye look š

My little girl is exactly the same! I donāt have the answers about when to phase it out as no clue either š© I want to make sure she doesnāt need it when she has teeth, maybe 6 months Iāll try and avoid using unless absolutely necessary. At the moment she literally shuts her eyes and sleeps as soon as sheās got it š

I wouldnāt worry about it yet. You are meant to try to get it off them around 6-12 months x

My nearly 2 year old still has one to sleep at night! Itās planning on getting rid of it when she has a understanding and it going to the dummy fairy.
There was a horrible stage where we were up constantly where she couldnāt put it in herself but wanted it. Much easier when they can put it back in herself!
I have friends who got rid of it, they said they had a week of hard work and then it was fine
