Girls, I've only just started, how often is everyone collecting, my first was too prem for me to even start harvesting so I'm not really sure what I'm doing?

Im doing every other day as I’ve been quite lucky getting a few ml each time x

Once a day for me although I normally do it in the morning but didn’t have time this morning. I’m getting a fair bit - 2-3ml each time - but could probably get more if I had more time. Just too much of a rush with having to look after our 2yo and still being at work. Although today is my last day woohoo 🙌

I am collecting every other day and I get 2ml each time. X

Me too! Getting nothing at the moment 😭

Will keep trying but hope im doing it right

I do it when I can be bothered lol it hurts my hands 🤣🤣

I filled a syringe in first 2 days and now I can barely get anything!

at the moment im doing it every few hours in the day for 10-15 mins at a time as recommended by my midwife to avoid induction

Can I ask why the pressure to get so much!? I get it if you have GD or going for a C section so it’s nice to have some stored up but I personally feel like there’s now a huge unnecessary amount of pressure about collecting now before baby when you might not actually end up needing to use any.

no pressure, it's a want to, it's choice so if you don't see the point or have a want to then that's up to you.

yeah no I totally get that for me but I’m just curious because I’m noticing a lot of pressure now. And no where have I seen it recommended that you need to have so much supply pre baby so I’m more curious where this is coming from

starts bringing your milk supply in before baby gets here if your planning on breast feeding or expressing, you can freeze it so it lasts up to 6 months anyway so just starts building up supply, i had a prem birth before and had no milk for her in supply she was in NICU and I was in for myself and it has hard to keep her topped up with what she needed with nothing already there so makes things easier to have on hand just incase you get separated

I was of the understanding that you start producing colostrum from 20 weeks so I didn’t need to harvest to bring your milk in

I definitely think it’s a good thing if you can. I was more just curious as I do genuinely see a lot of women feeling so much pressure to produce as much as other women and feeling like a failure if they can’t.
