Hello! I am looking for tips and tricks for how to balance working full time with being a mom. A bit of background: I work 40 hours a week at a corporate M-F job. Hubby works full time hours too is “on call” 24/7 rather than having a set schedule, so days off are not set, expected, or promised. Even days that he should have been off, he gets called to come in. As a result, I have become the “default” parent, and have stayed home with her when needed. She regularly attends daycare full time, however daycare has brought home several illnesses causing me to miss work. I am missing on average, 3 days a month due to the additional illnesses, appointments, and additional childcare conflicts (funerals, closures, etc.). My work has recently reprimanded me for the time missed, and reiterated the 40hr expectation - my question and struggle is: how can we better arrange things so that we both meet the 40 hours, and my daughter has sufficient care?
Any guidance is appreciated. My daughter is and will always be my primary goal, however I do enjoy the position I hold and would like to do whatever I can to meet these expectations.

Is you job willing to let you work from home once or twice a week?
Or can your husband schedule a few days a month where he isn’t on call?
