I have a cordial relationship with my in-laws but things are a bit fraught as they dictated and were quite controlling in regards to my wedding last year. Tbh I have low key PTSD over it all and a result keep my distance.
I recently found out I was pregnant and naturally decided to tell my mum and close family first that I was pregnant. I felt it would be unfair for my husband not to share with his family so we agreed that he would tell his mum and sister. A few months later his mum and sister said they wanted to congratulate me but didn’t as I didn’t tell them I was pregnant myself. I’m a bit confused by this as I didn’t think it was essential? His mum also complained to my mum that I never told her I was pregnant myself and I’m very rude. Am I in the wrong or are they exaggerating a bit?
My husband also shared pictures of the three month scan with my MIL and she is saying that it’s definitely a girl and that the baby looks just like her! I feel that they can be quite demanding and already claiming this child as theirs.

You did nothing wrong they are being weird. They are making nothing a big deal.

WTF?! Yeah they sound crazy 🤪

Jesus, I never told my MIL my husband did. I don’t think it’s that weird that husband tells his family you tell yours.
Also about the scan 🤣🤣😩 she’s gonna break boundaries for sure

Buckle up! If she’s like that now, just wait until your little one is born. Lol rude for having your husband share the news… that’s a new one 🤦🏼♀️

You are not in the wrong at all. And to say that a 3 month ultrasound looks like her is super weird.

Omg they are just looking for drama. No need. They were told, wether from you or him doesn’t matter. Especially if your not close to them so it’s ofcourse your husband will be telling them.
