Thankfully passed this stage now but when he was 6 months old about once per 3 hours. If he was waking up before that we would try to settle him otherwise. However at 6.5 months we stopped feeding to sleep and did some gentle sleep training instead and he started waking up just once and within two weeks, he slept through. x

Can I ask what gentle sleep training you did? Sounds like I’m where you were a few weeks ago! I feed her everytime she wakes too - mainly because I have a toddler in the next room and i don’t want him to wake up too.. but now I feel I’m creating a habit and am conscious that when she has teeth soon it won’t be so great for her oral health x

In a nutshell you put them down awake and just shush and pat. Ideally in their own room, in a cot. A routine and being consistent are also really important. Drop me a message and I can share more. x

yeah routine is definitely key but I have a toddler too which makes it hard to follow a pattern day to day for my littlest! 😅 I think this also plays a part in the bed time and night feeding frequency as I don’t want her to wake my son (sleeps in the next room and very light sleeper) so I probably feed her when I could leave her to self settle at certain points between sleep cycles etc if noise wasn’t an issue🤔 x
